It is held in Lansing Stacykins. I'm hope to attend and signed up but not 100% sure. It is 3 1/2 hours for me and I know it would be a looonnnng trip for you!
High of 54 degrees here today and tomorrow. On the bright side...at least we haven't had the Hell that Mother Nature broke loose on Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma.

I had originally planned on planting more of my garden this morning as I didn't expect the rain until this afternoon. Thunderstorms are rolling through and while I can't plant due to the weather I sure have nothing to complain about when one considers what the victims of the tornadoes are facing.

Good morning michiganders. I noticed there was yellow powder covering the garbage can lid as I rolled it out to the curb. EEK! Pollen alert.

Anyone know when the next swap meet is in Muskegon area. I heard the new Family Farm and Home had one last month (missed it due to DD soccer game). ???????

All is nearly well in the chicken world. My newest delema is a 3 year old RI hen who has started crowing and mounting the lower pecking order hens. Now I know why there has been alot of feather loss lately at least. She has always been more aggressive and a littlle nuts. She even dropped her wing for me when I walked past yesterday. Just nasty. If she stops spitting eggs she is a goner.

If its not one thing its another.

I've updated the chickenstock sell/want list. If there needs to be any changes, or if I missed you, please PM me.

I've have to rehome my geese (DH request), free or trade for heritage turkeys. They've been good, but they could use some boyfriends and maybe flock to hang with. They both lay eggs that are very tastey! One is an Emden, not agressive, just keeps her distance. One is an African, very friendly, knows her name, she also has one wing with angle wing, I just keep it trimmed for her. They're both 3 yrs old. PM me and I will bring to chickenstock, or we can make other arrangements.

welcome-byc.gif
to all the new folks!

Yes, but remember you're in the UP now! When I lived up there, I recall snowflakes once on the fourth of July!! When we moved downstate, it was mid June, and there were flurries! June, July, and August, as the saying goes, are just bad snowmobiling weather.

Lansing would totally be doable, I have family in Pinckney that I could crash with

I'm with you on the height thing and I can't even open my eyes crossing the bridge let alone DRIVE over it!

I remember one morning middle of july last summer getting up to take a shower and turning on the furnace, it was only 52 degrees in the house, even in the winter I keep it warmer than that. It was an especially cold summer last year though.

Yes! But weather aside, there is nothing like summer in the upper peninsula. I really miss Lake Superior!
