love all the backyard duck ponds, what a hoot!! I got home from work today and found two gray ducks in the yard where to white ones were this morning. They had been playing and digging in the mud all day. Wallowing like pigs and were covered in mud. They sure were happy to get a fresh batch of water in their little wadding pond. Wish I would have taken before and after pics.

Thanks but as soon as I posted that Aric had me take a look at him again. He's been laying either on his side or back so I'm wondering if its something that should be internal. Doubt he'll make it much longer. I must say everyone else thriving well. I'm waiting for 2 more to hatch then I'll candle the leftovers. Next week should be the bantams which are the ones I'm anxious for. I'm selling those and the parents once they get here.

Here's some pictures of my silkie chicks I picked up a couple weeks ago. I'm not sure a couple of them are straight silkies...they did have a few banty breeds mixed in so there's a chance.
Big Gray one...

For almost a year we swore out of the 8 silkies i used to have that 3 were roos because they had the poofie heads for sure. Two of them used to fight like roos too. Well we were very wrong! Two of them are egg stealers and sit on them but only for about a week. I have another one that has an extremely poofie head but there's no doubt it's a hen because we've seen her lay, so the poofie head thing doesn't necessarily mean anything. My neighbor said silkie roo wings are fuzzier and wider but not sure I see that in mine.

Just wanted to say LOVE the St. We had one when I was in high school. Her name was Roo (short for some long and complicated kennel name I don't remember) and the sweetest! She was so huge but her grandfather was once the biggest St. in the US. I have a pic of her somewhere where she was 5 months old standing on her hind legs and she's taller than my dad who is 6'2". Miss her so much!

Again, your kids are too cute!!!
