This morning I looked out at the birds emerging from the chicken coops, scanned the area where the traps were placed, noticed that one of the bushes I planted yesterday was leaning. Finished the crossword puzzle, checked BYC, drank a couple of cups of coffee, and decided to get my truck loaded with the tools and equipment that I would need for todays job. When I got to the workshop I glanced over toward the chicken coops and discovered why the newly planted bush was leaning. A large raccoon was in one of the traps and the cable on the trap allowed the anger coon to tangle the bush with the staking cable. Went into the shop, got a 22 refle and walked over and dispatched the critter. As I picked up the cable holding the coon, I discovered the coon had also entangled the cable with the hot wire fencing. That makes 8 less coons to date.
