Just my luck. I would have died for some pure araucanas this spring, but couldn't find any, so I got EEs from TSC. Now I don't have room for anything else.

Oh, don't worry Chickmate, I can take an EE off your hands... and maybe a Maran, too!

That would be awesome, but all my Marans are roos! If I give Opa an EE and the ISA I should be looking pretty good hen wise. Except I would like to add a few more BCM hens to the flock.

So the 8 week old BOs and BSLs follow me wherever I go in the yard, now the 10 week old ducks are following the chicks that are following me.
I'm the head of a poultry train. Choo, choo, cluck, cluck, quack, quack.

Ok, it's not a chicken or duck but...we went fishing tonight and I didn't catch any fish, but I did catch this nice clam!

Caught it with a regular hook and worm...not normal, nor is it normal to see them in the river I was fishing in. I used to catch them all the time in Canon Beach Oregon and only a few times in MI.

I hope you put the clam back in the water.
Where did you catch it? A clam that size is a good sign of good water quality.
I volunteer with Friends of the Rouge and do surveys for freshwater invertebrates and amphibians.
I'm also doing a hands-on class at Matthaei Botanical Gardens later this summer where we will be doing pond sampling for school-age kids.

I guess I'm just a nature nerd.

Just came in from checking the incubators and we have pips and shaking. By morning to have chicks.
