Welcome, Corvettechick. Congratulations on your chickens. I'm in Clarkston now, but once spent a year living on a farm in Oxford. Lots of lovely places around there!

All I learned about Leghorns came from this well- documented source.

Yes, I think it's true that woman like to talk chicken more then men do...although some men would argue that they just like to talk in general

And uh oh...are we going to have to play a love-connection game for you at Chickenstock and see if we can find someone for you?!

Thanks for your input fellow "older than dirt" chicken farmer!

I have a tendancy to perhaps "baby" my chicks/chickens.
Opa...please note that I put "fellow" meaning as in ALSO...and I grouped us together. Just joking I hope you know.

Some people are sensitive about age (I'm really not...) and wanted to make sure I didn't offend.

LMAO!!!
That's pretty much all I know about leghorns. I still love foghorn though! I guess I could name my new hen that when I get her...but I'm sure there are thousands that have done that lol

I think most, if not all of us do. I know I sure do. In fact just today when I was watering the chickens and ducks, my daughter was laughing at me as I was calling them by name lol. Not all the chickens have names (lots of nicknames though) but all of my ducks do. Well, except for one baby and for some reason i can't come up with one.

My chicks are out also at 5 weeks, pretty much feathered out and they go into the shed at night, no light, they are thriving and loving picking at the grass, "flying" and chasing butterflies. Quite amusing little toddlers

Keyt, the only birds we have named are the roosters and the LF cochins, everyone else is just "Chicken" in case we find ourselves eating them.
