Is that supposed to be a hint?

Looks like I only have one silkie in the bator that will hatch between now and Chickenstock.

So as of right now I have 3 blacks that are 1-2wks old that will be available.
And I'm thinking of selling my rooster as well....that will keep me from being able to hatch out more chicks.

I am also going to be bringing half of my Speckled sussex flock to sell, they are all year old laying machines!

I wish we could make it this year

We went last year and it sounds like this year is going to be quite huge!

On another note, we have 15 Turken eggs and some Blue Wheaton Ameracauna mix eggs in the bator! I know we can't keep them all so when they hatch we'll be posting some of them

Hope everybody made it through the storms last night safely. We dodged a bullet since we had them go through 10mi south and 10mi north of us. Some flooding and minimal damage to trees. Hope everybody is ok!

Jen, do you think you could imprint chicks to snuggle under bunny ears?
It would be so great to make the rabbits do the work of the heat lamps....

I took a shower in my pond this morning. I am sitting here soaking dripping wet. LOL. I had to unclog my filter and when it started working- I was butt-deep in the water and got DRENCHED. Water was shooting twelve feet in the air and right at me. Of course, I couldnt get the top back on- couldnt see- so I ran for cover. I think theres a fish in my ear.

Im sure my goose found it amusing.

If nobody brings showgirls or silkies for me, I will be coming home with only a gosling.

My husband says he will eat him/her if nobody takes her/him. I told him theres no meat on this type bird. He really dislikes it. Its my bully of the barnyard. I havent heard from OliveHill.

They had their 1st spring Fowl Fest show this year in Alma. But other than the usual OCT Fowl Fest show, it is the only open show in MI. There are quite a few in OH and IN. I don't know if you have a subscription but the Poultry Press http://www.poultrypress.com/ is a plethera of information and good read. It comes out every month and has listings of most shows in the country.

so michigan only has 2 shows a year that kinda stinks

Most counties run either 4h poultry shows or FFA shows. Muskegon has a Show, Barry Co. puts on a 4H Show, Ludington Fair has open class cages available, the oceana co. fair has open class cages. You usually have to make a written request for a cage and then If they have space just pay the fee usually 2 -3 dollars. I would check with the extension offices of your county and those nearby for dates and entry requirements. They are not APA shows but still a lot of fun.
