You got that right Fife, I had "glowed" so much by 11:30 this morning I came in to shower and stay put for the rest of the day, unfortunately I found the washing maching full of wet clothes my DH washed so took them out to hang on the line, within 5 minutes I was glowing again, YUK!!

The governor was included, now that's a good deal! I would think he's worth more than $15.87.
Fifelake, so happy to hear your hubby is doing well
On another note, two predators today - first my killer mini dachshund opened the gate into the chicken yard and got ahold of one of the buffs. Luckily she has such a gigantic fluffy butt he ended up with a mouthful of feathers and no chicken. Quite a squawking ensued and the dog was lucky he didn't get taken out by the rooster, who outweighs him AND outruns him.
Second predator, soon after the dog incident, red tail hawk comes soaring by, more squawking and hens were running, flapping and flying everywhere taking cover. Little birds scared the the hawk away. It's quiet now, hopefully for the rest of the day, but I'm not hopeful on having a big egg day
One of my "indoor" cats escaped again. She is very naughty and hides near the door, then shoots past you as so a you open it. Well, she made it into the backyard where the chickens are. They free range back there but go into their run for food and water. So they were in their run and she took off straight at them with me in pursuit. She made it into the run and, of course, they freaked out and started squawking and flapping around. She turned right around and hightailed it out of there and back to the house, quick as a wink!
what a day,.
My son went to swim in the quarry in monroe- not allowed, illegal but every teen boy I have known for generations has done it.
He parked in the nearby trailer park and his car was towed.
$350 to get it out.
I couldnt let the impound have it- he has no money, so I borrowed the money to get it out. On the way home from that, my van broke down. Serpentine belt, and then when that went- it blew a hole in my radiator.
This morning, a falcon was sitting on the wire- looking at his prospective buffet breakfast. Scared him off with a garden hose. Not too much after that, I looked up in time to see a HUGE wingspan landing ontop of the electrical pole. Henry my goose, freaked out. We thought the "eagle had landed". It was a huge crane. Sat there staring at my pond for a long time, then flew off.
At the park where I pulled in because my van was smoking up a storm, a local homeless guy came rushing up to see if I needed help. Nope. Im fine. Got a cellphone and a husband, thank you anyway. Well, he then asked me if I would help this goose. Someone dumped it this a.m. He said he tried chasing it to be with the other geese (pekin ducks) but they attacked it. Said it had been running around in the hot sun all day long.
It was darn near dead when I took a look. Young goose- smaller than Henry and Penelope. Looks just like them. No baby feathers. Longer neck, though, feathers almost the same. American? Maybe? At first glance, it looks the same. Extremely dehydrated, overheated. Homeless guy asked me why if its hot wouldnt it go into the river? I told him it was too scared, and would be dead before long. I scooped it up and it flopped its head across my shoulder. I put it in my van- kept the door open, and poured it some water. It guzzled a few drinks but I wasnt sure what to do at that point. My husband pulled up and I put the goose in his air-conditioned van. After determining that my van could not be saved and would need to be towed, we brought the goose home.
It looks amazingly better now- but I know it wouldnt have survived the day. Poor thing. My expen is out in the yard, open- we take the bunny out there for exercise. This poor goose put himself inside it. Kept looking at me like, "take me home"..
I dont know what I will do with him/her if its a boy.
My husband informed me on the way home that the hose to our refrigerator has been leaking for god-knows how long. It blew today. Spraying water everywhere. The floor is soaked with black mold, as is the wall behind the refrigerator. That wall is also my bathroom wall and the main supportive wall to our house. Its black with mold, soggy. The floor- and subfloor are soaked and molded. We dont have a basement. Theres a small crawlspace under the house. He says that its rotted through.
I cant do this- i cant take this. I dont know what to do. How do I make a claim with my homeowners? And if there is a large deductible, we are in trouble.
Mom2,..I am so sorry...what a horrible day. You should be able to get out your home owners insurance policy and read through or call them and find out what your deductible is. It varies as to what type coverage you have. Years ago in Florida we had a water pipe break in the kitchen...under our brand new wood floors. It was all replaced....quite quickly too. It will be ok...it is just you had numerous things go wrong all at once and it was unbearably hot today to boot. It will be ok...your family will get through it. It may seem like all odds are against it all working out but it will.
Chickwannab....love the new chick addition in the kitchen on the stove. Adorable!
