He guys, question for you all. I just went out to lock my girls up and they were all roosting nice & quietly like always except my little OE bantam was sitting in the nesting box. I'm gonna go back out before I turn in for the night. Should I put her on the roost if she is still in the box. I don't want her to make it a habit or the others to do the same. Plus they all have been oh so good about not messing in them. I already collected an egg from her today and she's sitting on the golf ball I have there.

She may be thinking about going broody, but it won't hurt to move her up to a roost.

I think I would let her be for tonight and wait to see what she does tomorrow.

This is what I just found when I came back home from Barnes and Nobles. I went to look at Chicken books... Not that Ya'll aren't helpful, but I just needed to know MORE. TWO! Poor baby. But TWO! SO, she's all happy again. But I am going to wait till morning before I put her back outside. Its chilly tonight, and she's still a bit damp in her underfeathers. Don't want her to catch a chill.

Thanks for all the well wishes. I think it did the trick!

At what age do they go broody? She just started laying 2 almost 3 wks. ago and is only 20 wk.old.

I didn't think she'd actually lay 2 eggs thou! I really thought maybe one would come out, or I'd have to try and retrieve it (not a pleasant thought). I hope that this isnt going to be a common occurence for her. She was is so sweet about being confined to the carrier. I am sure she's sick of it already.

Mine would do that and I would put them on the roost. They finally stopped. If I didn't they'd poo all in the nesting boxes and I was not too happy about cleaning those out every morning so I wouldn't get poo covered eggs.
