She's a RIR, of course. Our coop is TARDIS blue.

BTW, I cried watching "The Girl Who Waited". A really good episode!

I am going to paint our coop blue. I didn't think about TARDIS blue! That is awesome! LOL

Hey there.

New to these boards, and to chickens.

Started back in April and raised 12 RIR and 6 BA from chicks. All of them survived until I gave the mother-in-law a few, and my neighbor's dog got three as well.
Just got my coop and run done this passed weekend, so hopefully no more problems with dogs.

Hope I get to know some of ya and learn a thing or two.

Greetings, new folks. You will find lots of information, advice and help here on this forum. Just be advised that we are a prolific bunch and if you don't read everyday, you'll have pages of posts to catch up on.

One more thing, I'm working on a project for my masters. I'm using GIS to identify where in Michigan we have chickens.
I would appreciate if you could tell me the following about where you live and if your chickens are permitted or not.

City or Township:
County:
Permited; limited flock; or outlawed:

Please send you info to me at
[email protected]

All responses will be kept confidential.

Oddly enough, the only respose I've had of "outlaw" chickens is my own. So don't tell anyone.

welcome kevin!

Hawks... We got hawks...

I feel so bad. I locked up the neighbors chicks last night, but one was still out... it had been in their house sick for a few days, and didn't go in the coop with all the other chicks... I didn't know... It was dinner to something...

Raz is right out these pages filling up fast. One of the things that is so nice about this thread is that it is constantly growing. So Welcome Kevin, I'm glad that you've joined us.

Spent part of the day pressing cider. We pressed 8 gallons but since the sweetest apples are a few more days from being ripe, this batch is rather tart. I think I'll probably give David the majority of it for making apple wine. The sweet stuff should come next week.
