Couple of pics my hubby took today of me and my favorite chickie.

THEN....she pecked my teeth! Got a little lip....that is a LITTLE TOO affectionate! (sfter she pooped down my back....)

LOL...I just checked on them and she is back in the nest box. This little mean bugger has stolen all of the golf balls.

I will know for sure is she is broody or not tonight when it's time for bed but I am thinking I have another one on my hands. Oye.

Yep....just got back from closing them in. She's broody and get this, her silkie buddy couldn't stand not sleeping next to her so she stuffed herself in the nestbox with her.

When my little bantam went broody, I took all the golf balls away and I'd go out late at night, check to see where she was and if she was snuggled in the nest....up on the roost she went. I did that every night for almost a week!

Grandmachicken, if your little bantam is lonely GET HER A FRIEND!! They are sweet little things, aren't they!!

Just got a call from my 12 yr.old........4 pt. on opening day of the youth hunt!! He was so excited, maybe I'll post a pic when he gets back....of course with a chicken posing in the picture..... after all, this is a chicken forum you know...lol!!

Planning to get chicks. But I would love to find a friendly adult bantam. Not many friendly ones like that!​

Are you planning on going to the Fowl Fest @ Birch Run Expo?? I think it's next weekend, you might find one there. I might go, never been to one...I'll have to see what next week brings me.

Congrats on the deer! My daughter Got her two last year. We are heading to the family farm ith my daughter and a friend of the family's daughter. It ill be her first hunt.

welcome back fifelakelooper. While you were gone, I was up not too far from you in Cadillac visiting my sis and folks. Haven't been out west in several years. I actually honeymooned in CO in a cabin with an outhouse and a coal stove for cooking. Boy that makes me sound really old, doesn't it?

Saw several Grandpas getting out with their Grandsons to hunt today. It always makes me smile.
