Raz,

A couple years ago I told one of the neighbors that my silkies and showgirls were African Ground Parrots- and seriously, he believed me. Told his buddy that I had parrots that looked something like a chicken...

This particular neighbor has smoked the wacky t'backy a little too long.

The city guy doesnt know about my chickens. They are nicely hid and broody- minus Mama Frizzle and My crowless cockerel. The vines and bushes keep them hid behind their fences.
My hope is that the city guy doesnt send animal control, because then they will find my girls....and my extra cats and too many dogs. In my city, you are allowed three animals. Can be three dogs, or three cats, or a dog a cat a NONBREEDING rabbit...or any combination of those animals to make 3. No more allowed. at all. Its cut and dry in our city laws.

I have the same situation here, Mom.
Can't have more than 3. But if I get literal on the ordinance, I have to ask, 3 cats? OK, got 'em' 3 dogs? OK got that as well. Combination? Please explain, Officer...

But before the ordinance guy or police officer ever gets to that point, I ask to see the warrant that allows him/her on my property (ie front porch).

Do not, under any circumstance, let any city person or police officer come in to your house or yard without a properly executed warrant signed by a judge.

I know I'm rabble-rousing right now, but that's just the way I am.

Oh, and another aspect...
Geese are migratory waterfowl. Governed by Federal regulations.
"Sorry, but these geese just flew in and Fedral law says I can't do anything to to disturb them".

After running an ad for the roosters twice, and not getting any responce I made an appt with a butcher over in Caro to have them processed. Then today I got a call from a man who would like them for his wife. He's coming tomorrow, so YIPPEE, they have found a home. They are at 23 weeks now and really tending to business. When I let them out of the cooop in the morning instead of heading for food they go attack the hens. The hens are kept in a different building and oh boy! what a raucus goes on once everybody is in the yard.

Good to hear that you rehomed them! What about the butcher in Caro? Is he the one that you were gonna check out.....process them for a $1?

Hi everyone. I hope everyone had a pleasant day despite the gloominess. I took my kids down to Grand Rapids to view the art today and came across this piece that I thought I'd share. Of course, I voted up.

LOVE IT!

As for that suggestions on the lawnmower, gonna have to check now to make sure the deck is not engaged. I think the safety switches might be promisiing solution. The seat looks good though. See, I would just have my dad fix it, but he decided to go be with his maker last year and leave me to figure crap out myself this year. Oh well. I am sure he'd have figured it out fast.

The Hen House is a hoot! or should I say cluck. Very lazy day, watched an old movie, hung out with the chickens, veggitated at the computer and ate junk food all day. I am exhausted.

Oh, I wanted to go see the Art show too. But DH has only the one day off a week now so it is filled with things that need to be done around here.

I have a pip! I may have two new chicks tomorrow!
