Mom-Keep me updated on your geese. if no takers then I can add to my backyard flock. They sleep outside in a secure run. I just need a goose coop for winter.

I also have turkeys that I need to find pet homes for. They are 3 toms. 2 are marked up like Sweetgrass turkeys but they are a cross and one will be dark like his dad Henry.
Mom is a BR-RP or BR-Narry cross. Dad is suppose to be a BR-RP cross but looks like a heritage bronze. All three are going to be good lookin boys. Lost cable to download pictures but will try to get some soon.

Aww man, i want some!! I have one. I want more!!

I also want some BO's too if anyone has any.

I'll let you know if I will have extra's. 8 made lockdown today (extra eggs I stuck in the bator) but it wasn't so obvious which eggs were viable. They all got so dark inside.

Chicken Grandma -- I have a BA/EE sitting on her own eggs crossed with a BA roo. So the chicks would be 3/4 BA, 1/4 EE -- assuming here the eggs are developing. I haven't checked. She's not bantam, and of course neither is he. But she is on the small side, if push comes to shove and you can't find true bantams you're welcome to a few of these chicks if you'd like, if she manages to hatch them, of course.

Both girls had fun. We have evening hunts. Maggie (she's like my 4th daughter, but not) was thrilled, it was her first year. We saw three. 2 were close, but wouldn't hold still enough. The wind was swirly, and I think they might have caught a whiff of us.

Oh well, she still had fun and learned what it is like to sit and wait....and wait..

She wants to go back up with us at gun season. She doesn't shoot a bow yet.

With the weather today and the extended forecast, I'm sure the ducks and geese are quite happy. The rest of us, not so much. Yesterday I debated whether or not to mow the lawn. Now I'm glad that I did. The forecast is for rain for most of the week so it is going to make getting much done outdoors a little difficult.

I sure will be glad when my birds get over molting. Egg production has dropped off to the point of being ridiculous. Five eggs each day for the last week and since I have 25 hens more than a few aren't pulling their weight.

We were at my family's farm, where we had to move my rooster, Tempest. It was so funny, once he heard me talk to him, he got all excited and if I walked away he would crow. It happend like 10 times.....lol

He did chase my daughter 2 times when she was leaving the coop. He only did it to her. She used to play with him when we had him her. She was very upset thinking he didn't like her anymore. We told her, he just misses her! He is not an aggressive bird either. He is a huge light brahma and a big baby.

I have pics on my phone that I have to add.

Thanks chickflick! All I have as far as bantam chicks are a boatload of gorgeous black mottled Cochin pairs...I have them on auction here in BYC. If anyone needs any super nice 4H show birds for next year, these are perfect.
