M.Sue, your son should be very proud of himself, that is one of the biggest four points I've ever seen. I'm sure you and the hubs are very proud of him.

Ive journaled our deer season every year since 1999. My grandmother, Nonnie, liked to journal when she took road trips, she jotted down everything, the temperature, weather conditions, gas prices, what time they'd stop so she could have her Toddy. haha.

Oh my gosh....A Toddy. Grandma use to give us one when we were sicker than a door nail.......back then it was suppose to be the all time cure for the common cold to pneumonia !!lol She always called it a Hot Toddy because she warmed it a bit and had us sip it! Thank God I don't have drinking problem!! lol

LOL my stepmother made me a hot toddy once when I was suffering from pneumonia. I was in a catatonic state for pretty much the whole day. She even stuck a peppermint stick in it. I have no idea what was in it but I remember feeling as though I couldn't move and my brain function was near 0.

Totally need a hot toddy here. In fact, I may go make one. It is SUCH a gloomy, dreary, rainy day and I have a cold, oye.

I smashed open a pumpkin for my chooks so they can have a blast with it. They went strait to town eating the whole thing, and squabbling over seeds and the stringy orange goo inside.

I gave my girls one and there is just a thin orange skin floating around the run. (I should go pick that up) They liked it so much that I may pick them up another one.

Anybody looking for some Whine Dot roosters? Check out this CL post. Gave me a chuckle on an overcast day.

I need to get rid of 6 roosters. Whine dots ready for pets or process. I am keeping my hens & 1 rooster. They are well fed.. free! Call Dan & leave message 269 838 9136 ill call you back.

Hope you all are having a good day!

I going against the grain here and liking the rain. I just turn and replanted my front lawn 2 Saturday's ago and like that it is raining off/on all day. I am just starting to see some baby grass poking through the straw. I have a grub problem summer before last which brought the skunks in who tore up my entire front yard. This past summer a nice batch of crabgrass grew in so I decided to start over.

I have a question, how long does it take a rooster to realize he's a rooster? My guy is going on 16 weeks and is still bossed around by all the big girls even though he's as big as they are. They are 10 weeks older than he and his little broodermate. They have been free ranging together for a couple months in 2 little flocks. I had hoped they would merge into one flock by now. He's going to a new home the middle of October and that will leave his buddy, little Cadbury on her own with the big girls. Should I try to find another pullet to be her friend or do you think she'll become part of the flock when Mr. Roo leaves?

chicken grandma, I have some serama chicks that just hatch two days ago if interested. there are six of them to choose from. Please PM me if interested.
