Oh no, boxes of poo at my doorstep! What will the mailman think?!

No kidding! His truck, or car, will smell like a coop! And he wouldn't even have my son to blame for it!

Well, the lady finally showed up tonight about 7 to get black butt. She didn't even want a box to put him in. She just carried him home in her arms. So happy he's going to a good home. She should be joining our thread soon. She's on BYC now, but, didn't know about MI thread.

SO, down two 3 roos. Mr. Fluffers, Roger, and Oscar who is still just a baby. Ok, 4 months. SO, down to 15 in the coop now. YEAH! 12 girls. Mr Fluffers and Roger are established as to who is boss, and since Roger got into the big coop on his own tonight, I didn't put him in the cat carrier. Will make it easier to seperate then silkies in the spring when I want to start breeding them.

Now... Buffy lays these pretty little medium pinkish eggs. One day I get this XL egg from her, and I think maybe it might be the leggerns egg, but she's a white layer... SO, I have put Buffy's eggs on a plate for comparison to store egg. Who wants to take bets that her XL egg is a double yoke?

I deliver to a lot of farms and have delivered plants, fish, frogs, beneficial bugs, and worms (who I'm sure continue to produce their own castings even in transportation) so, honestly, I doubt it would faze me.

Catching up on reading....power outage last night and candles everywhere. Glad it's back on. LOL all this talk about poop! Thanks chicken grandma for the added info. I think I'm gonna take your route. Stacykins.... my son has a microscope, it was fairly expensive for a kids scope but I don't know if is actually strong enough, can't remember the power of it and I don't know what I'm looking for. Something to suggest the kids to do when they say they are bored!! Nova...pretty pic of your eggs.

I hope all of the rain doesn't make the Huron river too muddy. I was hoping for cooler weather and for the water temperature to drop to bring the steelhead in, but stained muddy water isn't exactly the best for fishing. Usually 24 hours after a rain is sufficient for the river to clear so I had hoped the rain would have stopped last night. I plan to go to Flat Rock to fish the lower river. My friend who fishes the river alot has a network of guys who keep each other updated on the river's condition and steelhead runs. On Tuesday another group of fish came into the river so hopefully more are on the way. The weather forecast for tomorrow is for cool and sunny, hopefully I'll get to enjoy sunshine and fish.

LMAO! I had to seperate my rabbit and my doggy (they are buddies) Waffles, the rabbit, keeps trying to get too affectionate with my lab. Avery isn't going for it....lmao Usually they cuddle together and hang out no problems. I think the rabbit has taken to cuddling and nibbling the dog.

Hope this day is better than yesterday!! My, everything that could go wrong did! I go into Lansing every Wed. to visit kids and grandkids. We lost power early yesterday morning. So, couldn't go. Didn't get it back till almost noon. It was getting pretty cold in the house. Generator.... on/off switch broken. Gas fireplace... couldn't get it to light. WT... Charter was coming at 10, well, no power. Called and they said they would come at 1. Power finally comes on... now our DVR and sound system doesn't work! Charter guy comes in and has to redo everything that the guy screwed up last week. Now, I have to reprogram the new dvr. The guy wears the booties, but goes outside in them, and messes up the floor, so now I have to mop... again. Just did it Saturday!!!
So, it's not as bad outside as yesterday! That wind and rain was something else. Hope everyone is ok and nothing got damaged. Sure the chickens are glad the wind died down.
HH, your hen with the babies is so adorable!!
Stacy, glad your dog is ok.
Have a good day.......

I was worried a tree might come down in the yard. The neighbor and I have bet to see if it'll come down this year yet. Good thing it is not facing a direction that will hurt anything when it does come down. Well, might hit my out building, but, I only use it for the previous peoples trash... slowly but surely getting that out thou so I can use it for meat birds next year.

No problems with Roger and MR. Fluffers this morning. I went out and they were both still in the coop together. Mr. Fluffers is to fat got get out of the bottom hole on the coop, and Roger hasn't figured that walk up out yet. He's got the outside on figured... just not the inside. BUT, there were no feathers or injuries, so I think I will be able to rest easy.

OPA, I hope you get some good catch on the steelhead tomorrow.

Chickflick, send them a cleaning bill. HEHEHEE

We are still in the middle of the wind and rain. I'm sorry your power went out but soooo glad ours hasn't since the incubator is running.

After not getting any eggs for two days I plugged in the timer and light. I really want everyone in the same coop for the winter, only my big coop has electric. So the past two mornings bright and early I have carried my 13 youngsters, about 4 months old, from the small coop to the big coop so they can hang out in the lighted coop. Yesterday afternoon they were able to go out in the yard. Today they are all inside. I have been checking but there doesn't seem to be too much picking on each other. The two coops share the same run and they free range together so it isn't all new to them. I'm cooking up a bag of old dry beans I found in the back of the cupboard. Hopefully if they have something to pick at they will be less likely to pick at each other.

The rest of my day is full of finishing a rooster costume for my son. Not just any roo but has to look like his Mr. Fuzzy Pants. I left the difficult parts, feet, beak, tail feathers for last so now I have to motivate myself to get them done.
