So just trying to see if anyone is interested in a t-shirt. I changed the design so it doesn't have theron's fowl farm on the front. The cost per shirt would be $15 with the proceeds going towards the World Wildlife Fund. If this becomes a bigger hit than I plan for it to be, then the proceeds will go towards both the World Wildlife Fund and the Humane Society of Midland County here in MI.

The shirt can come in many colors including:
-black
-gray
-light blue
-dark blue
-orange
-yellow
-red
-green
-brown
-pink

They come in both youth and adult sizes.
We could then either have it shipped to you or we will hold the t-shirts for you until chickenstock. Thanks again.

ETA: shirt design, colors, and prices

I'd like it to stay like this until the day after Thanksgiving. Then I would like it to turn just cold enough to snow so we have 1-3 feet on the ground covering everything. I would like that to last until January 1st. On the 1st it should warm to the 50s and thaw everything out. 50s is fine with me through February, but come March we should start seeing 60s.

Ahhhh.... that would be fabulous!

Well that seemed to go well.

Put the new banties with the big girls for the night. When I brought the new girls home, I put them in the big coop and let the other girls stay in the garage where they could see each other. That was Saturday. During the next 3 days, the big girls would go in and check out the new girls and they would cackle at each other.

So today I decided to see how well they would get along together. After mealworm treats, I left them together as the sun set. I just checked them and everyone has found a roost with one BSL and a Bantie cuddled together.

Looks like the introduction worked. I'll check every half hour or so.

I just put the 3 bantam cochins I am keeping in the little cage in the big henhouse. The other 3 are going to another BYC er that is also interested in a lemon blue project. Which means soon I will be down to 1 coop! Hallelujah!

M.sue :

Trick or treating was a success......Nice pics of kids & pets everyone! My kids get more candy than they actually want so in the candy tin at work it goes for our little clients! Yesterday was nice, got a lot done outside....my new shed arrived and I started to put the bales of straw around my coop!! Fall/Winter clean up is falling into place and almost complete. Today looks like it's gonna be another fairly decent day so far but bummer for me....I have to go to work. Here's a pic of my new shed & coop under going winterizing. DH is going to stain it later this afternoon ( he's such a good man)...hope the weather holds out and doesn't play any tricks!! Good day everyone!

He said most sprays don't last very long, they kill on contact only and don't kill eggs. So by the time the eggs hatch any residue is gone and they would have to be resprayed. He mentioned painting and spraying the cracks.

It seems a bit too good to be true, but tonight after taking care of the birds and closing up the coop I had no mites on me. I have every other night this past week. I didn't even get all of the old bedding cleaned out today - only the birds treated. I'm kicking myself now for not calling two months ago before all the other treatments I've wasted money on!

not to mention the creepy crawly sensation from those nasty critters!

Olive, I would love to have weather like that.

M.sue, congrats on the new shed.

I spent part of the day working on cleaning out coops and spraying them down. Maybe tomorrow I can finish

Ive got a similar issue going on in the house. took a cat to the vet with some pretty bad skin problems I hadn't noticed before, (not the cat person in the family). I was fearing mange but vet said NO, looks like allergy to flea bites. I know I have been seeing them on my tan chihuahua, I can set with him on my lap and back comb thru his fur and pick them off, crushing them with the backs of two thumb nails.
Vet sold us some stuff. I have to treat the whole HOUSE after a good vacumming, with some spray stuff, for three months. Put these drops on the critters, 3 cats and 5 terriers, and wash all the bedding, vacuum the couches, car seats etc and spray with this pesticide stuff. It gets costly when you have as many as we do. One sick cat and hundreds of dollars later........

sj, your rooster is handsome and your daughter and EE are lovely.

It's almost miraculous how these little guys turn around - DH said i think she's expiring when he saw her - this evening she has one eye open, cleaned wound w/cleanser and then applied Melaleuca oil- she now has one eye open, has taken water w/poultry drench...not eating, but is atleast able to right herself....looks like the hawk was trying to debrain her - scalping her first....tore the scalp back and then I arrived.....hoping our little gal (we're going to name her Frankenstein) pulls thru this all w/out any neurological issues!
To be continued!

Well, 2 days later and Frankenstein (because the hawk tried to scalp her) is doing marvelous....both eyes are fully open now, she's a peeping her little heart out, standing stable, objecting to us trying to give her water...and w/out really tugging around at the feathers on her scalp, the scalp appears to be reattaching nicely...she'll have a couple of flesh clumps but the feathers should cover it all up nicely....I think we're going to take her back to Henrietta and the other 8 siblings...of the 9 we have 4 cockerals....am keeping one and the other 3 are up for grabs....these eggs are from Wynette (moderator) and here's a link to french black copper marans if you have an interest.
