MISSING/STOLEN horse. It is kind of in between Columbiaville and Lapeer MI. I feel so bad for these people and i am trying to help spread the word and hopefully they will find him soon.

Beautiful eggs.....I just love the color!!! We don't have trespassers on our land but I know we have poachers around for I've heard gunshots at the weirdest hours.....1:10 am, 4:24 am......other neighbors in the area have heard them too periodically. Where is the DNR when you need them??

People kill preditors and varmits, plus there is coon and yote hunting at night not sure if it's in season right now though. I killed a deer the other night because he caught his leg in my fence. But, it would have been illegal to shoot him at night, so I did it with a knife. It wasn't poaching perse cause he was damaging my fence and broke his leg. I did legally tag it to be safe.

If you really think someone is poaching the DNR is just a phone call away on the DNR RAP line... 1-800-292-7800. Leave a message, they will follow up, but remember the CO's are swamped this time of year.

I am glad that you refered them as poachers and not hunters.. cause too often people refer to them as one in the same, and we're not!

Wild goose breast is an excellent meat for goulash - just sayin!! (I used goose meat that my DH canned) It was super good!

I know! I went to work, and came home and there were what...5 new pages to read. Guess everyone was taking a break over Thanksgiving weekend.

SO, I am certain now which pullet is laying my new eggs... Yes, eggs. I have 2 pullets laying, and they are the two I mentioned earlier. I sent Jace out to get the egg from the box, thinking there would only be the one, since I had already gotten Miss Legs earlier. Well, Skeeter was still in the box and he just reached in and took the egg right out from under her, and the one that Veena laid before she got in it! The little egg was even smaller than the one yesterdays, but Skeeter is also a very tiny little chicky. SO!

What do you cook with a pullet egg? Or 3.. I think the 3 together may be big enough to make on large egg! HAHA. Never thought I would think a chicken egg was cute... BUT THEY ARE!

I believe the farmer who found the carcass in his drainage ditch called & reported it. We do have the DNR RAP Line number in our address book. My DH has had to called a couple times in the past for concerns relating to other land than our own that he hunts. We do have a guy in the area who is noted for bragging & poaching but we don't think it's him for his last fine was A BIG ONE.....also got him in a lot of trouble.....deep, deep trouble.

Does anyone have one of the "Free Hunting" zones around them? The Dobbin's farmland around my mother's property has ALWAYS been a private hunting....this year there is some sort of State sign and a mailbox with rules and a list to sign for anyone that wants to hunt. Is this a new program that is being promoted or just new to me?
