This afternoon after I got home I let the chickens out to free-range for an hour or so while I cleaned the coop and gathered eggs. I decided to get the eggs last and went in the house to do something. When I came out there was Sachi sitting by the back door waiting for me to come out and right next to him was another little blue egg. I guess he decided we should get the eggs first. He seems to have a preference for the EE eggs I'm noticing. And he is very gentle with them, like he understands that they will break. What a dog. Now if I can just teach him to put them in a basket and bring them in the house!

OMG that would surprise me.

If I could get my stupid email to let me recieve I would post a picture I took with my phone. BUT its being very annoying right now. My fault. I knew I shouldn't have used my touchpad to receive mail while my big brat used the lap top. LOL.

Well, I got a new duck coop... but nope

Ready? Here it is!

I have a GREEN EGG! Scatter, one of my little cochin bantam mutts, the one with muffs, she laid this beautiful little egg! HER VERY FIRST EGG! She's so little too! Well, now I know what she is mixed with. EE!

So, I went out to get the morning eggs, and Scatter was in there, so I shut the door, and figured, to go back later. I went back out after half an hour and opened up, and I got the biggest smile! It was such a surprise, I was only expecting the one lite brown, the white, and the pinky tan egg that I get from Skeeter, and then another pinky tan from Skatter, since they are both from the same mama chicken. Just that Skatter has the muffs, but completely black like her Skeeter and Oscar. WOW! GREEN! How nice is it that I have a nice assortment of colors for being a first time chicken owner! SO totally cool, AND I sound like a total freak, but I know you guys will totally understand!

Apparently now that he's discovered that there are eggs in the low nest box, he's going to go in and get an egg whenever I open the coop. Tomorrow I'll be sure to have my camera ready.
