Almost forget, MJ around today? When you get this MJ, it slipped my mind when these were hatched and what is the mixed one again? I know you told me, but lost track of time. Would you guess the leghorn to be a pullet?

Fast is an understatement. My sons are now 43, 41, & 37 and the 3 together probably weigh 800 pounds. Yet it seems like only yesterday I could pick them up and hold them in my arms.

I am seeing what fast is. My daughter started kindergarten this year, and she was born the year I took my current job. I started as a technician, and have made it to supervisor before I was 30. I don't understand how the time has passed. I can remember high school like it was yesterday, and it seems each year now is getting quicker. I am not complaining though, like I said, life keeps getting better. The older you are.....the more you know. Time to cash in for the night. Sleep tight everyone.

I don't hear any thunder yet

Good Morning ALL-

I have insomnia yet again. Have been up since 2 a.m. It was a wonderfully powerful thunderstorm- hope my coop doesnt have any leaks in the roof since all the snow and ice melted. I know that we have a new sky-light in the garage. My husband sure wasnt pleased when i showed him that.

The rain is gone now- and just about the time the sun comes up and its time for me to go to work, I will be ready to fall asleep again.

I set fifteen frizzled cochin eggs last night, along with a dozen of a mixed variety that I cannot recall right now. LOL.

I opened a turken egg and murdered a baby. I dont know why they are so behind and why they are alive still. Today is Day 24.

I hope you all have a wonderful day. (And sweet dreams- coffee will be long gone by the time y'all wake up)

Mom gave me a recipe she always used, for oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Mom is 83 and her cookie baking skills aren't as good as they used to be.....but in her day she made killer cookies. Wherever we were at,building something, she would make cofffee and those cookies for our 10:00 break.

You could always count on mom for the best potato sald, baked beans and cookies. Kids would always ask if Gramma was making them for Thanksgiving, Easter, whatever the occasion was.

It is amazing how the foods we make or those we love make can create such strong memories and ties- a heritage of sorts. I guess it is the love, comfort and certainty of it never changing that goes into it...I miss my grandma a lot and would love to call her and ask her once again, "how did you make that?" I wanted to learn her recipes just to carry them on for her to the next generation.

Morning!!!

We have 27 healthy assorted pullets in our garage. Everyone was up too early, so the kids will have an early bedtime tonight:) We just need to protect the chicks from Nathan, my 2 year old.

Off for a busy day!

Sarah
