Not chicken related, but here is the start of my rag rug. I have done tons of afghans, but this is my first rag rug.

I've tried breaking broodies in the past, but they always go back to it. Stubborn wenches anyway.

I don't bother with them anymore. If they want to sit around in a nest so be it. I also don't force them to eat and drink. If a hen isn't smart enough to eat and drink enough to keep herself alive then I don't want her in my flock. I've never had a problem. They all do what they need to do.

My final presentation went well last night. There were questions from all of the students about raising chickens, getting eggs and the legalities of raising chicks in the 'burbs.
Of course the bantam green egg was a hit. Everyone was amazed that eggs come in different colours. And sizes! I had a mixed dozen with sizes from 28 to 75 grams. Even sold the dozen to a cute coed.

The best part was talking about chickens after the class. You would have thought that I was some kind of expert or something.

RaZ,

r u a biker ? i sorta wanted to do that long ago. Lost the desire when i took my brothers bike (read pride and joy) for an approved, but ill conceived ride, when he was in Elmhurst Ill. in seminary. i ran into a batch of one way streets, not riding in the right direction, on a couple of occasions. Got so turned around i thought i would never get back to his house. Finally did, and crashed into the back wall of the garage at the top of the hill that was the driveway. He wasn't happy, i wasn't happy, his wife wasn't happy, the bike was dented as was the wall. I believe that's when I decided not to be a biker.

Sorry your first ride wasn't what you expected. You can still try again.

One thing about riding a motorcycle -- you never get lost. You may become "temporarily dis-placed" sometimes, but never "lost".
