Hi Nova,

Denagard is the antibiotic that Fifelaker told me she used. If the two with symptoms are in the garage, maybe you could treat the garage flock and keep them separate?

Then if it does not clear, you can do something else like a swab to MSU to see what is going on. Hopefully, it will just clear up.

Buffy was doing it before she became a garage refugee... I am really hoping it will be like speckledhen says, and is really just a sheesh chicken. I did say heck with it, and did dose her with a round of albon, and roger too. Figured what could it hurt... Will do another dose in the morning. I don't like medicating when I am iffy, but will do 3 doses. Hope its viral and not bacterial. Really hope its just a case of the sneezes and nothing more.

Nova, why three doses?
I gave amoxicillan for 7 full days. With Coccidia Albon is given twice a day for 5 days. So three days may do nothing more than cause the bacteria (if it is bacteria) to become resistant. Can you give it for 7 days? At least to Roger and Buffy?

AngelaB- that's a nice first egg from your girl.
Taprock- nice pics. I was going to ask what exactly Billy Bob was, but read the answer in a different post already. He's neat looking.

Well, I finally figured out who messed up the christmas lights I have strung on my deck railing. I thought it was one of our barn cats, but nope. I heard very distinct loud crowing from the deck this morning and upon looking out the window discovered 2 of my bantam roos, Mr. Peanut and Gomer, standing in the messed up area proudly proclaiming good morning and, hey lady, this is our spot.

I didn't get a chance to grab the camera for a pic, but here is an older photo of the 2 culprits. Gomer is the red pyle (orange/white) and Mr. Peanut is the golden sebright.

what I just picked up from the vet is 2x daily for 4, so I wouldn't be doing the same directions for cocci. When I had that roo with gizzard inflammation, it was a 4 day treatment... They only gave me enough to cover a few days for Buffy and Roger, till he gets back from xmas vacation... But that's only 3 days worth for both, and bring swab in on Monday...

Groping sharks sound a bit more risky than hens! May end up missing a hand if they don't like it.

I have treated my chickens before with the ivomec and there hasn't been reactions before, This is the drench so they don't get it internally. Because I didn't want more chemicals on Peep when she wasn't doing well I just rubbed DE into all of her feathers. I know it is not residual but I will do it again tomorrow and as long as needed while she is in the house. If she is still around tomorrow I will try to progress from oatmeal to scrambled egg.

Teeville - is Mr. Peanut a hen? My son loves Golden Sebrights, however his only sebright chick didn't make it.

No. Mr. Peanut is a roo. He's in between the 2 white birds in the photo. The other golden sebright in the photo is a hen, though.

Good Morning everyone!
Thank you all so much for all the well wishes! I am feeling slightly better this morning- this antibiotic is like a super-drug. Who ever heard of only taking something for four days to knock the heebeejeebees our of your system? Zithromax, or something like that. This is day 2. Problem is that everything wears me out. Sleep for three hours, get up. Walk to living room. Rest. Go get dressed, now Im tired again. Hubby thinks I am crazy- or lazy, not sure.
My two indoor peeps are doing well...or so they appear to be. And my five outdoor ones are doing great. I do believe all those outside came from my sizzles' eggs. They have gotten their wing feathers and they all have the same black barring on them as my sizzle has. Very interesting. I cannot remember what makes a sizzle- but I went back through my posts to discover that I announced I only had one sizzle hatch. So, there you go. Sizzle/Turken crosses. Four toes. Two with black skin. Sizzle= silkie/frizzle something? Dont know what the something is, though. She doesnt have frizzled feathers. All white with black barring on her wings. She was good buddies with the rooster, so it makes sense.

Of the two in the house, one has dark skin, one has light. The dark skin has five toes. So, I am going to give one of the silkies credit for it. They sure are cute though.

Cant believe I am going to have a house-full of people tomorrow. Very much not ready nor prepared for it. I am thinking for sure people will be let down...because I just am not up to it. Dont even have a star or decorations on my tree. lol.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Yep. Wild birds spread carry these diseases everywhere.
And to add gasoline to a fire- I am not sure that culling a chicken that has survived a disease is doing Ckickendom any favors. In other words- How can we produce chickens resistance to these diseases if we cull them?
Dont jump all over me. This is JMHO.
