As far as i know if they are setting the other hens consider this an "absence" although they can clearly see them. Bird snobbery if you will. So then they have to try the pecking order again, as though you had took her away for a day.

Is there anyone on here who likes to obsess over fancy flowers??? Saw a green rose and fell in love; my other rose bush is a peach Austin. Googled the dang thing for 3 days now, and can't find naturally green roses ANYWHERE. Of course they have them overseas, just like the chocolate orpingtons and the best lavendars, and all the other super great chickens. hoarders.

So in a last-ditch effort i am asking you guys who may have better catalogs than me????? I am also searching for the coconut lime coneflower. Jung came out with a "greenline" coneflower, but i have not had coneflowers before, so do they fade a lot? One is the color i want, but i know that with a lot of flowers there is the "peak" so would i be better off going with the darker one for a longer enjoyment of the color? If anyone else likes green flowers i found a pale green "cup and saucer" vine in one of my catalogs

I know this is not chickentalk, but i was hoping for a michigan gardener to talk to; our seasons make things look different and act different than in the other states. i only get one "major" garden purchase a year, so i'm really biting my nails here!

Fuzzybutt....I've never seen a lime colored cone flower before but I do like cone flowers. They are hardy & easy to care for. As for fading they do fade in time...as the bloom gets old. I imagine that since the bloom would be of a light color (lime) that it would fade....how fast....???.

I have got roses from"heirloom" out of Oregon. They are on their own roots. Luv em.
They are still alive and am hoping to find them when I get the jungle cut back this spring!!
Never been a green flower person so have no input on variaties.
Off to work!! Yall have a great day!

Time to get up people so grab yourself a cup of coffee as another day is beginning and the sun will soon be up to greet us.

One less coon in the neighborhood. Yesterday one of my traps had a big boar in it. I wish I liked eating raccoon but they are just too much work for a meat that I don't particularily care for. It's a shame to have to put them down but the potential risk to my flock makes it necessary.
