Chickmate, Farmerboy16 and Teeville5,

I have excel spreadsheets that have hours of daylight for your area. If you like, I can e-mail them to you if that would help with logging your egg production.

I appreciate your willingness to help me with this project.

The same for anyone else, if you want to know how many hours of daylight you are getting, let me know and I can tell you for the whole year.

It's pretty interesting for comparing: Yesterday I had 9:21; Clay had 9:24; Sparta had 9:16 as did Greenville.

Snowing here non stop. Chickens are in lock down any ways. Haven't seen the hawk back today, but taking no chances.

This new format has made it possible to do more fun things, but my font changed when I made new paragraph. They'll get the kinks out of the new format and we'll eventually get use to it. Us old timers don't do well with change.
Have a safe day all...

Not so cold with the snow as i would have supposed! Spent the morning shoveling the little side yard where my chickens are; used the snow to make a packed in skirting for my camper-coop. I did it last year, and it made a huge difference in keeping things cozy when the wind got icy. Spoilt chickens! They knew it, too. Looked out but that's all. Too snug in their hideout!

It is often said that you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Evidently this doesn't apply to old roosters. I have actually not only figured out how to post pictures but I have been able to start organizing my old BYC upload photos into new more manageable albums. Will wonders never cease?

Way to go Opa!

We have over 6 inches of new snow....DH plowed our road and two neighbors. I decided that most likely the nice weather is gone so I decided to move my flock into the RV coop in preparation for their trip to a friends next Friday. I went out early so they would be on the roost and one by one carried them out to their new RV coop. Evidently it wasnt too traumatic since I got an egg from my fav Orpington...Matilda! I gave them vitamins in their water and quite a few mealy worms to make them adjust better.

I'm thinking about eating some mealy worms myself to adjust better to the piles of snow we now have! :yuckyuck

No snow to speak of here. At most a 1/4 inch dusting. It has been windy and cold though so the chickens have been in the tent coop except when they went into the garage coop to lay.
Extra and Broast are both in the same box, sitting butt to butt. Crispy goes in, squats and boom, there's an egg. I call it a 3 minute egg.

FIFE! Don't be talking like that! This is a family friendly thread!

Only 78 days until April 1, you know. Of course last year Spring didn't show up until mid-June and then by early July it was 100 degrees out there. *sigh*

Can someone explain this.....Private albums no longer supported. You can delete this album by using the edit album button or convert it to a public album.
Are they telling me that I can't do anything with my albums such as move, copy, post to a reply, etc.. and to do so that I need to make them public? I did upload one that got dropped in the transfer to post back onto my page. Public.....that is to whoever is logged on to BYC.

My spy window says only 2 of us Michiganders are on right now but when I go to a previous page and look at the profiles it says quite a few are logged on.....hmmmm....something else to iron out???

Gotta go, will check back later and experiment some more!
