I learned something new today! Chickens can actually get gout; i thought that was only a people disease! I was feeding my birds canned salmon, to make up for the loss of their beloved grasshoppers, turns out there is such a thing as too much protein. Hmm. And too much salt. So now i have the mission of finding out how many grams of protein is right for chickens; the food bags tell the % not the grams.

Of my 2 hens laying, i got 2 eggs this afternoon. The camper has a big bay window facing the sun, and i do not use artificial light or heat. (I have never had a "dropped" egg......?)
My red hen should start back up soon, since she moulted late. My other EE that lays the blue egg has not layed in a while. She did 2 in a row when the pink egger started, but that was all. I guess she just wanted me to know that she could, now she's chilling until spring.
