And groping would be "experimental"? I certainly consider it questionable!

Purely in the name of science, I assure you.

I need some tech help. I am fed up with those ads pop ups on the monitor, its slowing it down and interfering too much. Anyway to prevent ads popping up out of nowhere? It has nothing to do with BYC. Thanks for any help.

Google Chrome browser is supposed to help with that, but I can't say for sure since I haven't tried it.

I have always used Google Chrome, maybe I need to change some settings. I will go and find where I can change the settings. Thanks.

Farrnerboy, you need a pop up blocker.... Maybe you have one as part of you antivirus program, but need to turn it on? Or look for a pop up blocker online...

Those are some gorgeous roos.... If I were not so partial to my lovely Mr fluffers and Roger...

Oh! I have a damaged hen.... She decided that her foot, well toe needed some cosmetic work, so Vanna skinned a toe. it's bled something terrible... Well blood everywhere too! Poor girl now has a bandage on her toe and around her leg to keep it on. It just would not stop bleeding. I washed it up and outnumbered it, then the ointment is on the gauze then that's med taped to her. Lol. Then I stuck her fuzzy behind in the cat carrier for 3 hrs so she couldn't move all over and keep it bleeding. Lol. She's locked in the garage. Lol. I wonder what she tried to get up on in the garage.... Poor girl.

I love my chickens. Lol.

Do you have a styptic pencil? If not, sometimes Elmer's Glue works or flour from the kitchen. Just a couple of field medic tricks that might work.

Opa - Hope's quilt is great. It is hard to put a price on a quilt, so much time and work.

I candled my eggs tonight, only one is a positive thing. Two look like they are doing nothing and three are hard to see and questionable. Do roosters get lazy in the winter? I have three large and 3 bantam, You would think they could do the job.

Farmerboy - Love the roosters! Great names.

My rooster's will crow all night now that there is snow on the ground to keep it lighter outside. I don't mind the crowing, I can tell all their voices apart.

A while back, (who knows how many pages) when we were talking vaccines, someone put a link to the chicken doctor vet supply or something like that. It was a great sight and I wanted to get the cocci vaccine but now I can't find the page. I thought I had it book marked so I didn't write it down. If anyone has it or remembers let me know.

I sincerely applogize Mom2.
I went back and fixed my post so that I removed my comment which could be offensive.
I sure did not mean to be offensive but I see that it could appear that way!
Much love to you and your dear ones, human and animals.

Well said, Mom2. I agree with you. I believe I take very good care of my chickens, but I don't fret when Krisrose comes over wearing her chicken shoes over to my house. I can't keep the wild birds out of my yard, or the wild bunnies. What to do?? I just use common sense and it has seemed I've done alright so far.
Farmerboy, those birds are so beautiful!! Great pics!

OK, Mom2! I spent about six hours uploading photos to photobucket, accompanied by heavy-handed help at first from the DH. (DH: "Get up! Let me sit there! Just open this, double click here, drag this over here," at top speed. Not something I will necessarily retain. But it got me started).

I just had a post almost completed, figured out how to upload from PhotoBucket, then the PhotoBucket site froze up on me. Which it did numerous times when I was trying to upload onto it as well (just one reason it took me six hours). But is there a good reason to use PhotoBucket instead of just pasting in the file name for where it's stored on my computer? I have some vague memory that PhotoBucket was better because it resized the picture? But in the old BYC, if I remember right, you were supposed to use the IMG code from PB, and the tutorial for the new BYC says use the "direct link" URL . I tried using the IMG code and got error messages. Anyway, maybe I'll just upload from my computer tonight because PB is acting hinky.

Without further ado, here's one I like to call Gooser Feet in the Snow:

Here's another one, you can see Goose Jail in the background:

Meanwhile, the geese dream of better days. Ahhh, memories:

Here's how far out the braver chickens ventured (only after I cleaned the snow off the steps and put out treats):

And let's give the last word to Penelope:

"Mom2!!! Do you know what the new Mrs. Food did? Do ya, do ya? She put cold white stuff over my grass! I might starve! Wait till I get some scratch and some collard greens and some grumble, and I'll tell ya all about it!"
