WOOO HOOO My Partridge Pendesenca pullet laid her first egg this morning.

Whoo hoo! Congrats!

One of my fruitloops was throwing a fit this morning. I am hoping to find an egg later on today.

I put it on a board, i put it up on something so it's not as accessible to his big feet and he still manages to tip it over. And I have 2 smaller ones in with him. I have to change their litter at least 4 times a day because he gets it all wet. What is the answer ?
If you have a couple pieces of scrap wood, you can make a little hold down for the waterer. Make a bridge to catch one side of the waterer and a small pivot piece you can swing to catch the other side of the waterer.

Chicken Rustler..

Im in the mood for a scandal..do tell, what word did you say in Washington that is considered a bad word?

PM it to me if you are afraid of posting it..lol.

For the most part, I think we are adults...and we can handle it. After all, we let RaZ hang around here...

"Let" me hang around? I wasn't going to say this but I must clear the air.

Last spring all of your DHs and BFs were wondering how they could gain a few minutes of peace and quiet away from the obsessive chicken chatter that they had to put up with. So they pooled their poker money and hired me to create a diversion here to keep you gals occupied for at least part of the day. While you are here hen-pecking me, your menfolk have a short respite to do manly things, like watch TV, nap and scratch those places that embarrass you.

My contract is up for renewal and I'm going to ask for lots more money this year.

That just might work. Thanks for that idea.

Are they outside yet? From the photos they look pretty big. They may be too big for Gravy to get chummy with. She is really shy.

They have been outside..they hatched under the broody mama.
BUT, they all hang out under the heat lamp under the lean-to coop. She hasnt taken them out into the yard yet... or into the actual coop.

Do you all suppose that I could do a beak trim on Beeper and help her close her beak all the way?
Its not a cross-beak, but the tip of it keeps her beak from closing all the way.
I think I could take nail clippers and nip just the tip and her beak would be able to close and she would be able to eat more than she scatters.

I'm thinking that I would put them with them with Gravy so they could get used to each other and be pals. I can segregate them in the garage or the tent coop. I have a 100 gallon water trough that I can also use if they need to be in a brooder. I'm trying to think this through properly for the well-being of all concerned.
