Hello everyone! I am a new user from the Detroit suburb of Ferndale. Until the beginning of this year, chicken coops couldn't be built in our back yards due to lot size, but an amendment to the ordinance banning coops was approved unanimously by the city council. So now I get to plan and build my very first coop and then I have to look for some little cuties to get myself started! I am very excited to be a part of this online community as well as the community of chicken growers in Michigan. I look forward to learning and sharing my experience with you all!

Regards,
Luke

Congrats on all the new chicks veining and peeping in the eggs! How miraculous!

RaZ - how about scrambles and bisquit to go with gravy?
They are lovely young chickens and they are so precious in the nest box!
Thanks for the great photos!

Mom2 - so glad you caught Beeper before she faded away. Hope she can gain some weight. I wonder if her beak has been the problem all along, preventing her from getting enough nutrition and growing? Keeping you both in my prayers.

Welcome Luke! You will find a lot of help here with anything you need! Welcome!

Welcome, Luke.
Consider going to Chickenstock in June.
See the links in my signature.

Luke, welcome to our circle of friends. Since the majority are wonderful ladies having another rooster join is great. We will look forward to your posts.

Everyone must still be sleeping. It's time to start the day. Come on just pull the covers back, slide your feet to the floor, stand up and head for the kitchen. I've already got the coffee on.

Oh we're up. I'd rather not be, but we are. I just ended yesterday a couple hours ago; I'm not ready to start today so soon.

Has anyone had issues with receiving PMs promptly with this new system? I got a PM notification late last night, which worked fine. But when I got into my messages I found I'd also received a PM early yesterday morning. I'd been on several times throughout the day and never got a notification either here or via email about the morning PM. I never would have known it was there if I'd not gotten the second one.
