MOM 2 EM ALL,
REALLY SORRY, I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU COULD HAVE DONE MORE TO GIVE THAT BIRD LIFE.

Baby number one has arrived! The Skeeter/Fluffers baby. I have not picked her up yet. Leila had a coniption(SP?) fit. LOL. I went to look and listen to see if anything has happened, and I saw the empty shell, and I got so excited, so I made Leila move a bit, and out pops the baby and Leila was trying to shover her and the eggs back underneath her and Skuffers still popped back out! lol. How cute! Also, one of the Buffy eggs is chirping! Day 24! Only a few days late. SO not to bad.

LOOK AT MY BABY! I MEAN LEILA'S BABY!

I'm so sorry about Beeper, Mom. Like you said, she just wasn't supposed to make it. She was so small compared to her clutchmates, something was very wrong with the little one. You have your pictures and your memories.

Well, I just changed the bedding out of Leilas coop. I wanted the babies to have clean straw and all after they hatched. I didn't change the nest box, just the coop area. Leila was very interested in what I was doing. I took her out after I was done and set her in front of her water and got a chance to check out the little chick. SOOOO CUTE! Featherd feet just like her parents. ALSO the smallest thing ever! I looked at the other eggs carefully. 2 more have pipped, one of which is Buffy's one is Asters. The other Buffy egg is chirping, no pip. AND the last Skeeter egg is silent... BUT, it might not have broke the air cell yet either. Keeping fingers crossed that all 5 hatch out. BUT I am so excited that both of Buffy's eggs are ALIVE! AND that Asters egg is pipping too!

This week Friday I do not have to work. It will be my first day off that wasn't from having a baby in nearly 15 years. I would like to say I don't know what I am going to do with myself, but I do know. I am goinig to build my new chick coop, Move the 5 wk olds to that with their heat lamp, and TRY to move Skeeter and her eggs before they hatch to the brooder... Or maybe I will just put chicken wire in the coop, and section off the area she is at in order to protect the babies from the other coop members.. nah... better be screen. Dont want the littles to go thru the chicky wire. SO, that will be what I do with my first 2 days off in 15 years.
