Congratulations Nova on the adorable chicks! I hope you sent that picture of the yellow baby peeking out from under it's mother into 'picture of the week'
Congratulations R.Bahmer on the beautiful little sheep
and Farmergirl on the darling daughter.

Totalcolour - you have demonstrated bravery to us. Thank you and God bless you. . Here is a verse for you. ' The eternal God is your Refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms'. When I think of your daughter, I think of her in God's everlasting arms.

Here is an idea. We should pray for each other's children. Just look back at the posts and make a list of the children/young adults who need our prayers and let's start praying for them.
Even if you are a heathen, there is nothing finer you can do for someone than pray for their child.

And for those who struggle with despair as we all do at some time in our lives, always always remember that God loves you and so do we.

'When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I willl be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire.. the flames will not consume you.. I am the Lord your God.... Don't be afraid for I am with you.' Isaiah 43:2-5
So don't ever think for a moment that you are really alone because it ain't so. You are loved.

Thank you, Chicken Grandma..

Never mind... I typed it 3 times and am afraid we'll be shut down. The sun is out here at least. Chickflick must have sent it back.
Does anybody else think of Almonzo Wilder when you see Farmboy's name?
Farmboy, I think you're awesome by the way.
Ahh, yes I'm with you, un-named! Farmer Boy. Wow, I read all the Laura Ingalls Wilder books numerous, numerous times growing up. I would check them out of the local library one by one and read through the series, then start again. The Farmer Boy book I had a harder time warming up to because I wanted more Laura, Laura, Laura. Not to read about some random boy. I mean, after one round through the series, you do find out that Almanzo and Laura meet much later and eventually marry. And I never skipped over Farmer Boy when I was going through the series--but I don't think I ever liked it quite as well as the girl-centric ones. Now I think I need to re-read the books as an adult. If I can carve out a little time from my packed BYC-reading schedule, of course. Never really watched the TV series. When that came out, I was a few years past the total immersion into Little House books. Plus my dad vetoed it as he claimed watching it would induce diabetes. Anyone else remember the days when there was one TV in the house and about four channels and you watched it together as a family? And mom and dad had total control over what and how much you watched?

lambs, chicks, and baby girls...oh my! Congrats to all on your cute little new additions!

Chicken grandma, you're a treasure. You always have such kind and compassionate things to say.

Also, sometimes avoiding processed foods, msgs, splenda sweetened foods... Can help with the chemical imbalances... Along with an hour of vigorous daily exercise. Creates happy brain endorphins...
I have found this to be helpful also. As long as i stay away from any food from a bag, box, or bottle.... talking pop here, folks ;) . If i am having issues, i walk it off. Sometimes for hours, but i get to watch the sun set, and see how everyone's flower displays change day-to-day. Sleep is a biggie too. I don't sleep through the night a lot of times, but when i walk i sleep like a baby. My girls are regular hams too, and it's hard to be mad with the world when i have a cuddler in my lap.

Yes, death is so very final and much consideration and pain goes into making that decision. I hope you never have to understand this mind set. Sometimes we are kinda immobile to reach out for help or don't think we are worth it or that there is anything anybody can say to make us OK.
Unfortunatly i do understand all too well. Write me if you are having a rough day. Sometimes there really isn't anything that can be said to make it better, but i can listen??

ok... the last pic is so dark, because, well it was getting dark. I remembered to put a slanted roof this time. LOL. I have a front and door on also. Oh, and the triangle down there in the corner, Its just sitting there.... I used it to make sure my corners are square. Its easier to find half the time than my stupid t-square. My kiddos take off with everything. I found my tape measure in the middle of the front yard after 30 minutes of searching. I will post my completed coop tomorrow.

What a busy thread.

Hugs to everyone who is dealing or dealt with difficult times.

Love all the pictures....chicks, chickens, babies, lambs, calves, pineapples...I hope I didn't miss any....oh yeah, the beautiful zebras!

Today was a beautiful day here. I spent the entire day from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm OUTSIDE! It felt so good, it was warm & the sun was shining....all day! My face actually got tan. We took our kids snowboarding......yup on that fake, man made white stuff because mother nature hasn't followed through on her contract. They had a blast.

Well tomorrow is my big day of trimming. I can't start the task till noon due to church & a Superbowl Breakfast we always attend after church. Pancakes, eggs, sausage, etc....can't miss that!

Do you guys think my DH and I can get all 12 chickens manicured before the Big Game starts? Remember we've never done this before.

Nova -I hope you are teaching your boys how to build! That is a great coop!

Fuzzybutt love - healthfood store has some good supplements that can help mood also. Walking is great! I walked all over L.A. when my husband was in the hospital for cancer there. Best thing to do sometimes, walk and pray. What a combination!

Since we have seen chicks hatch from eggs we must always have hope in miracles. As long as we have a breath; we are here for a reason. Even if all we can do is pray for each other, it is a privilege to be here and do that. And wait for the miracles to happen.
