What a day! Short work day. So, came home and got to works on the garage. I went in search of Fiametta's hidden nest. Found it and some generally filthy eggs. Figure they're ok though since its been a fridge outside anyway. Lol. Good thing I know how to use soap and water. I put a flake of straw there... Its in the dog coop that's attached to my house that has a pop door that lets into the garage. It smells like a litter box from the outside cats... Well anyway, am planning to use title the chickens to be able to go in and out of the future garage coop for the silkies and little cripple toes.
But I found the nest! Lol.

Nova, your auto correct often has me scratching my head and laughing my butt off! Sometimes I have no clue what you're saying!

fuzzybutt- those do look good. I made some chocolate chip brownies last night for DH and used peanut butter frosting on them. Very yummy.

No auto-correct here. I don't have a smart phone. I'm back to using the dumb computer while my good one is in the shop. I did get the data back-up disc back from Geek Squad tonight so I can recover my homework. I hope; haven't tried it yet.

Looked out the back door in time to see a rat run out of the little coop where the wild bird seed is stored. Yikes!

Let the dogs out and they went nuts trying to hunt it down.

In the fall, the big hens caught a mouse and dispatched it in a matter of seconds. I wonder what they would do with a rat? I'm not going to take any chances, so tomorrow I'll go get a couple of snap traps.

A rat on Valentine's Day, that seems apropos.

I hate rats. But living on the farm I see quite a few of them. But I still hate them.

I just hope my neighbor doesn't see it. On the other hand, she can't tell the difference between a rat, a squirrel or a rabbit.

My e-mail address starts with "yorks." Back in the day, the school computer used to auto-correct it to "earaches." Huhhhh??? How is that even close?

Oh Farmerboy and Hillbilly Hen you are enablers! I have three different breeds of bantams I want from three different places so different sets would be better

...but then I have to deal with more introductions since they will all have to go in the same coop.


I finished my sewing order but managed to mess up my machine so I have to take it in tomorrow. I have a quilt that needs to be finished for the ladies group at church, mending and more bags ordered. Hopefully it doesn't take too much to get it running again.

That cake looks good! I skipped the sweets for DH for valentines, he's trying to lose weight, instead I cooked ribs

Taprock - I think the ribs are o.k. From what I am hearing lately it is sugar/flour that is the 'bad food' now. Fat is off the hook! Remember when eggs were to be avoided? Now I am showing my age. Thank goodness someone changed their mind about eggs and we can eat them again without concern.
Anyway, I think if you throw some greens on the table with the ribs, you have a balanced meal!
