Just listened to the weather forecast and it sounds like we have some wet weather on tap. This time last February we had gotten 31 inches of snow and this year 6 inches. Snow changing to rain is on tap.

Coffee is going down quite well and in a cup of two I should have my brain sufficiently caffeinated for it to function. Farmboy sure has to get up early for work. I certainly don't miss the days when I had to get up that early for work.

Raz you are right with your clarifications of the "good old days". There were many of them that I'd just be getting home rather than getting up.

Off to Petoskey this morning so the boy can get his allergy shots, the weird child loves them. It is supposed to get to 37 here today although so far it is just gloomy looking.

Thank you whoever it was the posted about fixing the subscriptions. I haven't been getting them for a while but there was one waiting this morning so maybe it's back working again.

What did you do to your machine?

My machine is a Viking Husqvarna with cam's. I keep saying I will get a new machine and then I see how dinky they feel with no real metal in them. The tension is all messed up. It's leaving huge thread loops on the bottom. It has been going slowly since before Christmas and I just kept adjusting it tighter but the huge amount of work I had to get done this week did it in.


The update on my neighbors, Duane and Peg - they were both transported to Spectrum Health in GR. They are both listed as critical. He is worse with burns on 45% of his body and not a good prognosis. The first reports look like it may have been a heating blanket that started it. All that is left of the home is a chimney and a porch.

Opa, could you post info on your nesting boxes again? I'm looking to rebuild my boxes this spring and I'd like to try to keep my eggs cleaner. We're going to donate all our spare eggs to our little village, we have lots of seniors that I think could benefit from some free eggs. Thank you!

First off good morning all,,, been out & about already and got the poop boards in the coop cleaned,think I will try burning some of the bags of dirty
bedding for the compost.

second, It is Tabrock with the neighbors we are all prying for, I think I gave them to Fuzzybutt yesterday,

I just hope my neighbor doesn't see it. On the other hand, she can't tell the difference between a rat, a squirrel or a rabbit.
True story, sadly enough.

I have not seen rats yet but I know there is a mouse living under my feed can, It is outside in the run, keep hoping the cat or a chicken will catch it(them), have a mouse trap inside the coop (no feed inside) have trapped 5 so far this winter.

What did you do to your machine?
I have a 1928 Singer that is my "go to" machine for most of what I sew. I have a newer Elna serger that I broke a lower hook on, so it has to go in for repair if I can find the cash for R&R. My first wife got the old commercial Pfaff machine we had so I'd like to find another heavy duty machine. I'd really like a Juki LU-562.

My Mom has an old cam-programmable Kenmore cabinet machine that I'd like to snag, but she isn't willing to part with it yet.

Gads Raz you sow too?? My girlfriend and older daughter house sat for my brother this weekend and he supplied chocolate, tacos,bacon wrapped cream cheese& peppers, bubble bath in the hot tub, beds all pulled out & made up, and we were wondering why some smart girl had not snapped him up (divorced twice, first very young second she decided she didn't want to be married any more,sad situation) so all this said, What on earth is wrong with the ladies out there?? Then you hear about the guys in retirement homes that get deluged when they are widowed ??

This guy persisted after being asked (told) to stop. That constitutes stalking to me.

I'm all for free speech, but when ones words cause such distress for another person, then those words need to be reviewed. This guy crossed a line and he needs to be held accountable for his actions. Had he not been enrolled in a structured classroom environment, then he might have more first amendment freedom, but when you are part of an institution with certain criteria, then you should be following the rules. After all, when you enroll in university, you agree to abide by certain protocols.

Oh man. If only I had a set-up in place, I would have grabbed one of my br girls this morning. When I got out there I threw them a treat and grabbed out the eggs from the boxes. While I was working on the water and feed, one of them jumped back up in a box and started to make noises like 'oh my gosh, I lost it. where did it go!' She jumped up and down to each box doing that and I was soooo tempted to say 'come with me little mama'
