Who know maybe certain chickens I will raise to eat and some to keep. My son used to slaughter chickens at a farm so he knows how to do it.
If there is one thing I hate is sharks oh yeah and bears anything that I may come in contact with here in the states I don't like. I was raised in Southern California and swam in the ocean every summer and never gave it a thought of sharks lurking,

Quote: Daron, that is the answer I came up with also. A gallon of water and weigh 2 grams of the Tylan powder into it. Mix VERY VERY WELL!
Thanks Nancy, I will do that. it will be easy for me to remember. Thank you everyone jumping in to help this fella with his measurement issue. :D

First chickens, then sows and cows!

Olive looks like you had a very busy day. We had the kids and grand kids up.,,, 1 sat with her nose in Harry Potter. 3rd grade LOVES to read. twins were in our bedroom coloring, cutting, they love to play in there cause of the door to outside. It is like being in there own world ...run around in the snow bare footed then come in and jump on grandmas bed and warm up.boys were watching the history channel. would have made them go for a walk but we live on a dirt rd and it is all mud. Sang happy birthday to both sons and had cake & ice cream after dinner. A good day!! Love Sundays, they are my excuse not to do any work,

Was reading about Chocolate Orpingtons on the poultrykeepers site and boy oh boy, they are a nice dark brown fluffy looking chicken. Says they lay light tinted eggs.

Depends on whether you feed regular protein feed, or high protein gamebird formula. You just have to watch not to give too much protein or salt to avoid gout. Laying feed is supposed to be bad for roos too. I fed mine tuna and salmon once a week through winter and i didn't have any problems. I have heard of people mixing cod liver oil in the feed for the omegas, but i wonder if it makes the eggs taste funny?

The chocolate birds with the chocolate eggs are chocolates bred with dark egg laying marans. Takes a few generations, but
