AND- I see that Nova has one of the Uggos...how'd you manage that?

NOW- ALL of you...I have banties..if any of you want some banties..if I am sending a couple to Nova...

II also have FOUR UGGO ROOSTERS THAT HAVE TO GO...

How old are the Uggos now? I don't know how I got an Uggo, but she's half silkie half faverolle. I have a black Uggo too, but he's not an noticeable Uggo as Belle Mai. I would take 2 off of your hands, but I am afraid they'd just end up on the Asian dinner plate... Don't tell the kids, but I am planning to raise silkies for that. There are several Asian families here that have expressed interest in my duck eggs and keep asking when I will have silkies. I told them, give me 6 months on the silkies. I will not do the balut tho. Just like I will not eat lobster or crab. I don't believe in cooking things alive....

They are also in blue and green I think it was... Well anyway, some are taller and some shorter, I think CR said it was welders discretion. LOL. Well, anyway, aren't they freaking darling! SO, these are what I am talking about. CR makes them.

You cant ignore me forever.

How am I ignoring you? I talk to you more than my Mom.

I think Nova has an imposter, both of my not-so-Uggos are out in the yard. They are darn near as big as Crispy, the BO.

Hydroponic stores have sprung up all over the place around here. At least 4 in the near proximity. All I know about it is that it is expensive to get into.

I am going to go and give the ducks a new pen. I have emptied their coop out so I can move it. Just waiting on some friends to come and give a hand. I can not move it myself. TOO heavy. I already gave them a fresh pool today. I went to get them some feeder fish today, but those idiots at Meijer must not have wanted to sell fish today. We were standing there for over 5 minutes after asking for help, with the, "Oh some one will be right there" that I finally said to heck with it, and got them some fresh spinach instead. I know your not supposed to give them too much when they are laying... something about calcium I think it was... but heck.. their eggs are so hard right now I have to hit them several times just to be able to crack them!

They were born on December 15th.

They have to end up somewhere...and they cant be here. My husband is a big wuss...well, he really isnt but for some reason, he likes the Uggos.. I do too..but I like having chickens more. Four roosters crowing over who is the biggest is going to get me busted and ruined.

You must not talk to your mom much...lol.

The rooster Uggos are huge.

FOUND A PIPPED AND DEAD BABY :( I was trying to count how many are under the frizzle...to see if I could put some babies under her and not overwhelm her...and one of the blue eggs was pipped and completely dead. (cuz you know, I had to be sure...and yep, dead.) poor baby.

So, is expecting a frizzle to raise a dozen babies too much?

I have two week old banties taking over my kitchen..OMG...too little to go out, too big to be inside...

Therons duccles are soooooooooooo cute. Some are grey and brown some are dark brown and light brown? Whatever color they are, cute little bumble-bees...and a couple chipmunks..and barred rocks? Theron? And do the boys have the spot and the girls dont? Yeah,,,,figures.

A solid yellow, a couple grey and yellow with cheeks...

babies babies everywhere.

Juise..is he really selling to you on a Sunday? He has definitely changed his policy then. Totally needed a duckling from him, totally wouldnt sell to me on a Sunday.

I missed your route. I live off 94 and 75..and um..275..RaZ, where do I live in relation to where she is going? Does she come even near this way? lol..

No purebred barred rocks. we don't have a barred rock rooster. They mostly are from 2 EE daddies and many breeds of mothers haha. We hatched out four duccles in the past few days. They usually vary some in coloration when they are born. How many eggs left to hatch and what is your total chick count so far?

We do indeed take 96 around Lansing! Where are you at, and do you mind the fact that it will most likely be around 9:30pm when we are passing through there? I used to live in Lansing, and have lived in Okemos, too. I worked at The Traveler's Club International Restaurant and Tuba Museum, ever been there?

Oh no, that would be the perfect time! :) I live about 5 minutes off the MLK/M99 Eaton Rapids exit :) I'll shoot them a call! Will you PM me the details of what day and everything?

Nova..

Another tip for trying to pick a silkie pullet..they dont have spur bumps..none. I know that other pullets do- girls or boys..but I havent experienced it at all with silkies.

I gave up sexing mine...I wait until they shoot out eggs or start to crow! LOL We need to have a chick-sexing class at chicken stock! :)

Oooooooooooooooooh OLIVE!

just an FYI...I have 2 new litters of Hares that were born today :)

Y'all are a bunch of chicken enablers you know that? when DH comes home and says "you did what?" I'm blaming all of you. You're all just lucky that he's too lazy to drive out there and smack all of you for me!

So since this thread just hanging there kinda slow-like, I started thinking to myself; "swampducks, TSC didn't have what you wanted last week, gas prices are too high to just willy-nilly make a 75-80 mile round trip to Alpena in case they have something you want this week, or next week when you'll be heading to Alpena around the 28th for groceries, but that's a Loooong time from now, and it's so much warmer than it ought to be and other people don't seem to have too much trouble getting chicks even when it's colder out, and though you have a hatchery order coming the first week of June, why not just head over to your favorite hatchery website and see what they might have sooner, and lookee there! They got some nice laying type birds available the first week of April!!! A whole 2 months earlier so you could have eggs possibly by August. hmmm, should you just get 10 or 12 pullets? But wait the shipping fees get lower with the more birds you buy and if you buy 11 of a breed the chick price drops too... hmmmmm

So you enablers, first week of April I'm getting a mess of Golden Buffs, aka gold comets aka gold sex-links and for the heck of it because they didn't have buff orpingtons available that week a mess of Blue Andalusians just because they had 'em available and they were different. I know absolutely NOTHING about them other than the tiny blurb under the photo.

I did remain slightly sensible and order straight run so extra roos will be visiting freezer camp, but still.... I've succumbed to chicken math!

And TSC will probably have I was looking for when I finally do get there.
