Oh...still trying to find a home for my two chicken tractors BTW :)

I was letting the rabbits take turnds running in the yard while cleaning the barn today...here's my doe "Naughty" striking a cute pose :) I call this the "T-Rex look" LOL

Hurrah, I can walk today. Well, it's more of a limping shuffle but I'm semi-mobile again. Still not sure what I'll be able to do but I'm going to try to do something.
Don't know what happened to ya but glad you can shuffle about....it was to nice to be stuck indoors today.

I had to cull one this morning. Pretty much did me in.
So sorry to read what you've been going through

M.Sue - That is a lovely photo of your pretty daughter and her ribbons. Her horse looks like a keeper!
Thank you. As for the pony, he's not ours. His name is Rebel & belongs to a boarder at the barn. My daughter does an open lease which means we lesson on one particular horse but have pickings of who ever we want to ride on off days during the week. She is currently lessening on him.

This is too funny, I might steal it!!

I have two new additions to the family to share! Meet Honeysuckle and Dulce de Leche!
Congrats....they are so darn cute. Be ready for mischief!!

A sure sign of spring. My weeping cherry tree...
We passed one of these trees on our way to the horse show this weekend. My friend that was driving scared the crap out of me because when she saw the tree she let out a huge gasp and said Oh my gosh would you look at that tree. I don't think I've ever saw Weeping Cherry Tree.

The showgirl silkies have 5 toes and tonight two of them were standing right next to each other and got thier toes stuck together and were floppin' all over trying to get unstuck (for just a few seconds) LOL it was so funny. :)
I had to laugh. I watching the ducklings and one was standing there with one foot on top of the other when he tried to walk. He kept trying to lift the foot he was standing on but couldn't seem to figure out that he was standing on his own foot.

RaZ.... I'd say the only thing wrong with the picture would be the wheelbarrow in the side yard..... The tree is beautiful.

My duck eggs, the largest ones are averaging 106. So not quite double my chickens largest, but close. I used the largest duck egg and the largest chicken egg for the cake. It was YUMMY! Pineapple upside down cake. It tasted better going in than coming out. About an hour after dinner and cake, I became very I'll. My mom did not... Neither did John... No, I don't think its from my gall bladder. That was not hurting... My mom thinks it was. I think I wish I could call in sick.

This is too funny! I have an egg yolk stain running down one of the walls in the coop and wondered how it got there!

So today I got this tiny little egg. So cute, but from whom? It couldn't be possible for one of my almost 10-week-old pullets to have laid it, could it? Must just be an ooops from one of my mature hens?

you don't have a banty? i have to say, i think that's smaller than my banty cochin's eggs!!!!

Nova, i was going to tell you earlier that my antique betty crocker uses a measuring cup for eggs, instead of how many. a med/large is supposed to be 3 Tablespoons, but if you want an easy way next time you follow the recipe measure how much egg you are putting in, jot it down and Voila, then you can use whatever size eggs you want easily. Sorry about getting sick.

Raz, you do know that aged cheese, pickled food, and processed meats trigger that, right? Pretty much all the food groups of a lone roo...........FIL got his first case after eating primarily hot dogs for weeks...... Good news is that cherries are supposed to fix it!

Well, we had a busy day today. It was so wonderful out I kicked everyone out of the house and we got things around the yard done. Picked up trash along the road and all the sticks from the trees, cleaned out the mudroom and swept its roof off, mowed the side yard and pulled down the massive oak branch that was barely attached to the tree- it took 3 of us to carry it away! Got the brooder, coop and bachelor pens cleaned out, as well. Love weather like this where you can work outside without either being too cold or hot. The chickens all loved it, too.

Angela, Taprock- sorry for your losses
M.sue- congrats to your daughter on her ribbons
Jen, Taprock- cute chicks
RaZ- your tree is beautiful. We have one near the edge of our property and it was blooming last week, but the blossoms are gone now.
Stacykins- such cute little goats!

Now it seems like I'm forgetting something, so I probably am.

The clinic doctor said much of the same thing...lunchmeat, red meat, seafood and beer. The only trouble with that diagnosis is that I have had none of those things for weeks. The only things that I've had to eat for the last couple of weeks is popcorn and yogurt. I didn't even eat any eggs as I sold them as quickly as they were laid. The cupboards in this bachelor pad are pretty bare. I'm wondering if I can use crumble to make oatmeal or cereal.

Wow, 32 degrees and still falling and tonight i going to be even colder. I sure hope that I didn't goof by not putting a heat lamp in the coop with the ISA Brown chicks. They are pretty much feathered out and they are locked in a small insulated coop. I've got to go to Meijers to get donut holes for Hop's step dad and when I get back I'd better check on the chicks.

Rise & Shine.......Lets hope it's gonna be a nice day.

My DH has started working on the chicken tractor for the new chicks.

Question & Your Opinions Pleases: He bought some metal and plastic hardware cloth and can't decide which would better to use. I think the metal would last longer & look better once constructed. He's thinking the plastic would be better since it wouldn't rust. Don't know if the plastic would end up cracking due to weather conditions (hot&cold). Have any of you used the plastic? Which do you think would be better to use? He can always return which roll we don't use.
