My neighbor called a few minutes ago. Said he brought his trail cam in to look at the photos and there's a photo of a cougar!

HA, he just sent us the photos, grainy, DH and I think it's a regular cat! He swears he's not pulling an April fool joke.

The sun finally came out this afternoon, gorgeous out there, a little chilly but it did make it into the low 50s. I planted some sweet peas by the deck, Figured I had to do something outdoorsy.

I really ought to try something but I fear I'm still afraid of "coloring outside the lines", been my problem for years.
Ah, but if you "ELIMINATE" the lines, then there's no longer a problem! Besides, if you do something you don't like, do something else and "hide" (or destroy) the one you don't like. And pretty soon, you'll only be making things you like.

Eliminate the lines!

Happy Sunday All.

Nancy... I have pictures just for you today. LOL. Leila was out eating again. I fed her Veena's egg, (Still shell-less, but starting to get shell like texture to it) with bread soaked in it and vitamin drops. She decided to take a sojourn to the driveway to have more subway bread...

As you can see, her littles are bigger than she is...

Belle Mai has not left her side. She even sits in the nest box with her keeping her company. Such a good little ugly chick.

And now a, "ARE THEY DEAD?" moment.

Its amazing how they contort themselves... The way Vonna is laying, you'd think she has a broke neck. Veena... She's put on quiet a bit of weight since her egg bound/crop impaction issue.

Yesterday, I got this HUGE pink egg. I thought that maybe one of the neighbors girls came over and used my girls nest box. The one on the left is Skeeters (note: she is a 2 pound bantam), and the one on the right is a duck egg... Can you say OW OW OW OW OW! Poor girl. She laid a normal sized, for her, egg today.

And last but not least...

Nothing like a dandilion to either tick you off, or make you smile. I personally love when I am driving around in BFE for what ever reason and see yards covered in yellow... Borculo has a dandilion festival.. I think its Borculo...

Congratulations Daron! With all the brothers and sisters you have, this isn't your first time being an uncle is it? You're going to be a great one!

Good luck with that paper CG! I'm so glad I decided I was done with school!

I had no idea people would buy peafowl to EAT! I hope all goes well with the testing and they test clean of MG so you don't have to start all over AGAIN.

I got a call from a friend who does water fowl rescue today. She has one lonely female Muscovy that they rescued and are looking for a home for her. Anyone out there interested or know anyone who would be? I guess she is brown color.

Well, I got tired of eating like RaZ so I made a big casserole dish of chicken and rice. It's the simplest thing to make, but everyone loves it and I can eat it for days and not get tired of it. Skinless chicken breast baked and cubed, white rice cooked, a large can of cream of mushroom soup, mix all together and bake for 1/2 hr. Delish. Also bought a bottle of wine today and will have a nice glass with my dinner.

I had to stop and think about AFD too!

Chickens had a treat of grapes and hamburger buns today. I always look for the bread that is marked down and get a couple of loaves or packages of buns to keep on hand for treats. Grapes have to be one of their favorites though. I have tried dried mealworms but they wouldn't touch them so I'm going to stop at the aquarium shop or a bait shop and get some live ones for them. I moved a big tree stump yesterday and there were hundreds of tiny white worms under it for about 2 seconds!

I'm out of grumbles and scratch, so have to go to TSC tomorrow. Oh oh. I've been good so far, but will have to peek and see if they have any chicks and what kind. I'm for sure not getting straight run of anything because, like Mom, I'll end up with roosters! Still can't believe that out of 10 BCM chicks I got 2 pullets and 8 cockerels!

OK! Finally caught up with all the posts from yesterday after I went my merry way...

Juise, glad to see you back. I talked to my neighbors as well about my birds. I am one very lucky lady. They like them, but told me that if their dog gets one... I told her, If its a problem that they go there, I will rectify it, but if their dog gets one, well then the chickens will learn a valuable lesson. RUN AWAY! LOL. Hope your little pullets eye clears up.

HH- Thats one lucky hen!

RIRJen... potty mouth. LOL.

Ummmm. I am sure there is other stuff... but, I forget.

OH! Daron, congrats on the impending doom of the baby-less state. Being an uncle is always the best part with babies. You can get away with spoiling, doping up on candy, and sending them home. LOL

Any thoughts on letting my new girls out this week? We're doing a chicken tractor setup. The group we want to put out was bought on the 4th of March at about a week old. They're fully feathered out. Weather is in the high 50's on M,T,W and in the low 40's on TH. Lows of high to mid 30's. Think its ok?
