You know what is awesome? Power outages. A power outage on a gorgeous, sunny day. Not windy, not stormy. Barely a cloud in the sky. Yet the power is out. It has been out for about an hour.

I can still be online for a bit because of the battery on the laptop and the internet being supplied through a cell phone hotspot.

But the INCUBATOR upstairs doesn't have such luxuries! This is so frustrating! I have covered it to insulate it as best I can, but I don't have the resources to do anything more.

Hey Raz -- Happy Easter! What? You don't want me to buy you two or three?

Well fine then.

Happy Easter everyone.

My eventful morning included getting ready for a sunrise service/breakfast at church. In between getting food ready my son yells coyote. So I shoot the coyote and go back to the food and sent DH out to get it. He insisted on pictures then. I managed to only get a little blood on my shoes! Nothing like a bloody coyote and dressy WHITE shoes. They cleaned up with peroxide.

Now I'm home to change into comfortable clothes and meet the rest of the family at my parents, then to DH family. Family is nice but for once it would be nice to stay home on a holiday. Enjoy your day everyone .... and all the cute chicks!

taprock, something about that pic... with you all dressed up and holding up a dead coyote....

My Easter hatch is done...

Is there a vaccine for that yet and is it any good? My vet hasn't suggested giving one to my dogs but as I'll be there for their heart worm tests this week, I'm interested to know. My dogs already get the lyme vaccine, I know it's not necessarily all that effective (I believe they dumped the one for humans?) but as I sometimes head to MA with my pups on vacation I want as much help as I can get. My sister lives in MA and her last dog got Lyme's even though she was vaccinated yearly.

Canine influenza can live on a bag of dog food for two weeks. So, if you purchase your dog food at Pets Mart or anywhere that Pets can go- without proof of health or vaccination, and you bring home that bag of food...you put your own animals at risk every day- unless of course, your dog is vaccinated against K9 Flu. If you went out of state and visited friends or family that had a dog that may or may not be carrying k9 flu, and brought your suitcase and clothes home and unpacked...you could be giving your dog K9 flu.
I had never heard of this so I asked DH because he regularly traps raccoons. He has heard of it but claims it's pretty hard to contract unless you eat raccoon poop. Obviously, he doesn't know everything if you're talking about handling soil and walking barefoot. So how does it get into your system? And can dogs get this?

Hey Raz, do you own a Suburban, too? I cringe whenever DH tells me he just filled his.
It wasn't a slot machine, Vegas or a casino but I just lost $150 at one fell swoop to a machine....

The freaking gas pump!

We had 2 big meals at my in-laws farm the last 2 nights, everyone who drove up has to drive downstate today so Easter dinner was last night. Plus all the running around and visiting, I'm tired too. Told DH we're having Easter Pizza for dinner. Heh, he just asked if I was going to start the dough in the machine. I just fed him an egg salad sandwich! The man loves to eat.
Man, I'm being lazy today. I tell you, if my youngest hadn't zonked out on me after I put her to work I think I'd make the 30 minute drive to the nearest restaurant just to pick up take out so I don't have to cook. LOL!

I didn't get it either. I asked DH. He came right out with it. I said "oh".

In my defense, I was thinking this is a chicken board, we talk chickens, peeps keep trying to give each other roosters. So I understandably thought real roosters were involved

I'm going to remember that next time DH makes me cranky. I bet it'll take him a few minutes to get it. LOL!

DH thinks that is a GREAT picture. Until I saw you were heading to church I was a bit worried that you dressed that way all the time on your farm. I took out a porcupine a couple weeks ago. DH was not home at the time, but even if he was no way was I going to hold it up by the tail for a photo op! Especially without gloves! Nice job!
