Good Saturday Morning everyone!

I see a ways back I got blamed for something.....

I got wide shoulders MJ, pile it on.

Making a big pot of fresh coffee, then I am going outside to enjoy Spring!

Sure has seemed nice outside lately, makes me glad I didn't die during the winter....I'd have missed it.

Good morning all- very happy day to you all. I have two more babies that I just got out of the incubator. Now, if the one that spiked over 110 will only hatch some out, I will be very happy.

FeathersAcres- ahh, thats a bummer. I was planning on taking off this morning. I dont know- hows tomorrow work for you?

Next weekend I have a sleepover party for my daughter- insert wide eyed smiley here- none of the smilies are working for me- she is turning 11.

I need to clean out my coop. I hope it gets just warm enough where I can do that without running inside to get warmed up. OH! *darn it* my husband has "cleaning out the garage" on our agenda today.
Yay me. *smiley saying 'pbbllllltttt!!!*

I'm off to take a roo to get processed this morning. The 1 Delahorn that I thought for sure was a pullet turned out to be a roo...so we're having fried chicken for supper tonight!

Good morning!!! I hope it warms up a bit today and isn't as nasty cold as yesterday.

My only poultry related activity today will be talking chickens with my friend when we go to the horse and tack auction this afternoon. It should be another fun time with my horsie pals. I do, however, at least have to take my girls with me, so I hope they behave. Some of their little pals will be there, so hopefully that will keep them busy.

I do have a kind of funny, at least for me, story to tell. For the background, my husband does not like chickens, at all. Turkeys, maybe, but not chickens. In fact, he was chased by a huge nasty roo when he was 4 yo and I do not think he has ever recovered!! Yesterday we stopped by a neighbors to see his beef calves he is raising and we also got to see his little flock of guineas, chickens, ducks and a turkey. I was talking to old Dave, telling him that DD was showing chickens at the fair this year, and he started telling hubby all about how neat and easy it is to raise poultry. Then, he told hubby about some folks who have a flock of banty crosses that they want to get rid of, how they pretty much free range and don't take much work to keep...............etc. Hubby actually was asking questions and appeared interested. I asked him if he liked chickens better after talking to old Dave, and he actually said, "yeah, maybe a little". To steal guitarists line........."The chicken assimilation has begun..........."

Hope you all have a great day.

Got a reminder this morning of one of the first projects I need to do soon, refence my garden. One of the ameraucanas was outside of the fence so a taller fence is in order.
I've got to go pick up some materials so I can build a nestbox and a better brooder. I'm going to build the brooder with a wafer thermostat and an oven heating element. I plan on building it with a pull out tray for easier cleaning. I don't know why I'm building it other than the challenge or maybe just in case I have to rescue some bantam chicks.

Went to the Hillsdale auction today.... even got DH to go with me

Poor birds... MANY had horrible scaly leg mites and or other issues. There were some handsome roos though. Lots of fluffy bunnies.... and I even got DH to ooooo a little over the baby goats!

So maybe there are goats in my future

If I can convince him it is cost effective

He does want to go back and stay for the rest of the auctions someday.... lots of stuff to look at, and he liked all of the 'surplus' grocery stuff they had for sale. I did leave with a blue Milk of Magnesia bottle, a hand shaped dish and a pretty white pitcher for my kitchen

Didn't see any other BYCers

There were SOOOO many people and we weren't able to stay long
