Opa, is your garden shaded? Have you taken your soil temp? I ate the first radish from this year's garden last weekend, the peas are planted deep and are up and doing well here. (I didn't pre-sprout.) I'm actually north of you by a good hour+.

Another windy day but at least the sun will be shining brightly so I not going to grumble too loud. It would be nice if it were just a little warmer. Need to clean the droppings boards in the LF coop and then start working up the garden. If I can get it done I may plant a few things like lettuce, kale, and radishes. Soil is still much to cold to even think about planting seeds that are planted deeper.

Good morning Opa, no wind here in Belding,
I have garlic and asparagus waiting to go in, hope to get a spot cleaned out for them Thurs. Some day next winter I may catch up on posts, hope every one is well, ,,, Have a great sunny day

Juise - That must have been an amazing tumble your daughter took. I don't have kids but I know they are walking hazards sometimes. It's unavoidable.

I was happily folding clothes one day and somehow my neice got ahold of a hanger and thought a "snatch and runwithhangerinmymouth" game was just what auntie needed to get her heart pumping.

Good thing I am swift and calm becuase she didn't get that far before you she tripped.

Blood everywhere....baby screaming...momma screaming...I'm trying keep everyone calm to assess the damage while trying not to lose consciousness. lol No ER trip needed....at least not for the baby.

I have a stand of white pines that shade the garden until late morning. I haven't taken a soil temp but from past experience I know that now is about the right time for me to get busy.

some pictures....enjoy!

some patridge silkies...

These guys are adorable!

Juise - glad your little one is ok. I never had a climber and it sounds scary. However mine was a 'in the mouth kid' and we got really familiar with poison control.

Nice and sunny out and really WINDY! The dog wanted out at 3 this morning. I let him back in locked up and climbed in bed. I heard a funny noise that sounded like the door so I got up to check. It was the door. I somehow locked the bold open and the wind blew it open. I'm just glad I got up to check.

What a crew coming out for tours today. 50 second graders and 25 adults. And I got stuck doing the Conservatory. With that many people, it can get loud in there.

Good morning Michigan. Breezy and cool here again today - ground is way too cold for working up yet. We are still loving 50.

first chick out of the next batch of eggs is out! :jumpy   big fat showgirl :)  it's huge, mostly its butt :lau   I'm serious though...never seen a butt that big on a chick!

Definitely sounds like a Bertha

M Sue.....sure sounds like you have a great barn family there. SO important, When I was younger in 4H my leader was not much of a leader if a teacher, but I had enough horsey friends that I still had a good time. The club we're involved with now are gals that I grew up with, and our barn dynamic sounds a lot like yours. Everybody does their fair share of chores....no princess mentality here. The way we look at it is that horses are a lot of work, so if you want to be involved with riding, you have to pitch in on the not so fun stuff. It gives the kids a clearer picture of just how much responsibility it is to own a horse. Helps the parents to separate the once in a while riders from the hard core horse nuts like me and my daughter. I've seen too many nice folks buy their kids a horse or a pony because its the thing to do this week and off to something.else the next. Meanwhile, the horse just becomes a very expensive lawn ornament.

But on to more important things!
YES I WANT THE BUNNY- A GIRL - How can we meet up? When can we meet? How much do I owe you?
It'll be tough. I can hold one for you. When I make a Cabella's run I woulod be close? Hey, then there's always the next litter. Not sure when though. I have a NZ batch coming around 1 May but the FG's are what you want.

PM me and we can work offline plus then I don't have to try and work back through the pages - it's not my thing trying to read 300 posts
