I do, in fact, have window blinds. Not sure why...the windows are so dirty. Dog nose prints all over the big bay window.



Speaking of chickens...

I went out to check the bees and chickens since I didn't do it yesterday. All the chickens and ducks come running, so I got them some treats. Then it dawns on me...I'm missing and Uggo. Where is Lemon?

<dramatic pause while the audience gasps and begins to worry>

I go into the garage and turn on the lights and call. She is still up in the rafters peaking down through the Brian-hole.
I really need to cover up that space and I have to double check up there that nobody is hiding eggs. The Uggos are around 19 weeks now so with any luck, they will start earning their keep.


First things first, need to finish this pot of coffee and wake up. Then there is a Spring Wildflower & Folklore workshop at Holliday Park this afternoon. I hope the rain holds off.

morning all,
all this talk of coffee makes me miss my coffee pot.

I was informed I'm not allowed to go to the feed store alone anymore!! Last time it was ducklings, this time it was chicks.

Is there a support group? OH WAIT, I think this is it and you all are just as chicken crazy as I am!! Maybe we should apply for SSI (debilitating mental disorder? obsessive disorder?) I'm going to have to do something to bring in money to feed these kids!! Maybe I should pick up hoeing, is that profitable?

I'm off to check the chicks and ducklings again and then let my other kids out of their coop, it's finally done raining!!!! Have a great day and I'll check in later

Until they can find a house, Hope's oldest son has been living with his in-laws. His father-in-law lost his job after working there for 32 years. He has been unemployed for almost 2 years now and once Roy finds a home he is really going to be hurting. For the past two year Roy has been making their mortgage payment for them as well as picking most of the household expenses. Their washing machine hasn't worked for quite some time so Roy and Jen have been going to the laundry mat or bringing their laundry here for his mother to do.

Since Hope's stepfather is now permanently in a nursing home, and he had just bought a new washer last fall, Hope had me working not long after 7am to go get the washer and take it to to Roy. His father-in-law did help me take it from the trailer and into the house. I hooked up the water lines and all that remained to do was adjusting the two leveling legs at the front of the machine. Roy is unable to get down on the floor to adjust the legs due to injuries sustained in Iraq. He just called to thank Mother again but also to vent about his father in law. Rather than taking 5 minutes to level the washer he left to go have coffee with some friends, stating he would try to get it later when he isn't so tired. I can't understand how anyone 12 years younger than I could be tired at this time of day and after so little work. That probably explains why he hasn't been able to find employment.

I need to get off this computer and get my butt outside and get busy. I need to clean the dropping boards in the rainbow flock coop. I can't have Eeyore coming here Sunday and finding the place sh***y. She might think I'm a lazy old man.
