I managed to find the rooster in my avatar a great home! Someone who knew what an Araucana is and was definitely happy to have him! A home where he'll be a flock member, rather than food.

Speaking of birds for food, three of my pekin drakes will be heading to freezer camp tomorrow. I have been so heavy on the males this year, of everything, chicken chicks and ducklings. SO my family will get to enjoy some delicious roasted duck. My father is looking forward to having duck the next time he visits.

These silly mallards I have will sometimes go in the coop at night. Other times they like to hang out under the white pine. Since these guys are "wild" I don't worry about it too much.

I did clean and refill both kiddie pools for them today and when I checked on the chickies at dusk, the duckies were floating in the pool. I did find out that they like cantaloupe as much as the chickens do.

I think that the orphan ducklings will be going out to the garage coop this week. As long as the weather forecast holds for the warm temperatures.

Opa - Done and done, I was thinking about that all of a sudden while finishing up the new nesting boxes. I am too tired, I was only thinking along the lines of "pun" and not that it was probably a little too dirty.

Kaia thinks that anyone not wearing a shirt is naked, and will usually promptly begin taking off all her own clothes when she sees one.

I barely finished getting the pieces cut for the new nesting boxes before the storm rolled in, but I did manage to get it all together and painted in the back porch. The front piece needs a second coat, but aside from that they are done, huzzah. The new ladies should begin laying soon, so I am glad to have that done. My circular saw crapped out on me (I am never buying another power tool again, aside from maybe a drill, that is battery powered. Sounds nice in theory, sucks in reality,) so I had to finish the last few cuts with my scroll saw. It was just the angled cuts on the dividers / side walls, but they are less than clean and straight lines. Ohhhh well.

YEEKS!!!!!! is right! I have to say, though, they were something to see and the way they circled was rather impressive because it looked so uniform. Despite that, I hope they give someone else a nice show from now on.

And Thanks CG, Nova and Juise. It's great to finally be able to hopefully get some answers and help for her. Honestly, though, a bit of me is a bit nervous because the range of potential possibilities. But I really just hope they can give a definitive answer and not just an unknown cause kind of deal.

I don't normally ask for prayers, good vibes, whatever... My sister has been rushed to the hospital for ER.. She has internal bleeding and bile duct leakage. She had her gall bladder out Friday... Things have not gone well. She has to self catheter every 2 hours just to pass water, has not had a bm in 3 days and now this... So, you see where I angling on this. Thanks so much.
