The last time i cut i actually found "corns", but this is just an odd and gross mess in there that is kinda hard and stringy. Not at all what the pics looked like on the how-to's. I have been soaking in either peroxide or epsom salt, to try to clean and draw out. I can thank the epsom salt for hardening the mess a little this last time so i could see what to do, but this is looking like it's attached to the bone maybe. I cleaned all the sides out yesterday, but can't get the bottom cleaned. I really hope this is not infecting the bone, she's my favorite. I did the first attempt last fall, then again in the spring, and twice again in the last week. :(
That sounds awful! I read somewhere you can give them antibiotics injected but I never found out details so we didn't try it. The last time I cleaned her foot out I sprayed it with the Vetrycin spray.... and I don't think it's spelled right. It did a really good job.
:)
this is our cat Adonis and one of the new chics (tippy and spike - as my 3 yr. old named them)
Welcome! I also have a Spike!

Well, no baby chicks yet from my broody. I have to admit I'm a tad bit worried about them, though, because I saw her off the nest a few times today and each time the eggs were in different areas of the nest. She seemed to be a bit jittery since moving her and the eggs so I decided to keep the crate semi-covered. Since doing that, she seems calmer and has resumed sitting. Hopefully, the disruption hasn't caused any loss.

Well, I am back for a bit with lots of exciting things going on Golden Willow Farm.

I will just post pictures as pictures are worth a thousand words, right? :p

Well, here is what happened on Sunday on day 52-

Hatched 2 babies!

:woot :celebrate :weee :ya :yesss:

On Monday-
C4B- This one is the smallest one. I had to help it out for I would see that it was stuck. I just made the hole a bit bigger, and let it fight its way out.

C1-

Jade the puppy seems interested on the chicks, but knows that they are mine. :)

Yesterday-

2 of our American Guinea hog sows gave birth last night! I watched the first sow give birth to 6 piglets last night, but this morning my sister ran from the hog pen saying that the other sow had given birth to 6 piglets too! I knew that she was close but not that close!

Gurt
Before birthing-

Masiy

Moved Bella and the steers to the new bigger and better pasture.

Tilled the garden with a John Deere on Tuesday, and planted most of the seeds yesterday.

Farmerboy I am so envious!!! The emu are adorable! What do you feed the little guys?

Nice morning. I got Yeti and put her in the tub to eat her breakfast. She is making all sorts of happy chick noises. Today, quick trip to the old house and then plant some flowers. My son has square dancing and baseball today and I'm not all that excited about either.
