I guess the great weather is keeping people busy. This thread has been kind of slow for the past couple of days.

I know I have been busy. I got the cedars planted and mulched in. I've been spreading the 2 yards of triple-shred mulch and still have to dress out the north border bed. I have some of it sitting on the driveway and you can really smell the deep earthy aroma.

I have another bee hive coming today. Needed to get one in a hurry because the bees are getting ready to split and I just haven't had the time to construct new bodies. With all these projects, I need to clone myself.

Hopefully I'll get the compost pile tilled in the chicken run. I know they will like that.

RaZ... You're a machine! Holy cow... When do you take a break? Only when you hurt yourself or what?

I know what it is... You're giving the old busy body some entertainment huh... She's just waiting for you to crack a beer and take a ride on your mower... LOL

I have been trying to get things done here but I am having some aweful issues with my Lupus, so I am not getting all the stuff I want and need to get done. Darn lupus always trying to keep me down.

Heres a pic of what I think is a Jersey pullet I can't believe I had to put a wire top on the brooder already they were only 9 days old when I had to put it on.
Lupus sucks! My BIL and his mom both have it. :( I have to retrofit my brooder today as well. Chicks are only 5 days old and one of them managed to climb out of the kiddie pool and get wedged inbetween the pool and the gate (keeping the dogs/kids out) this morning!

Here's a picture of our coop-in-progress. We're hoping to get it pretty much finished up this weekend. Of course, we've already changed it, and the floor now goes another 2ft out on the right, and the lower roof section on the right is going to have a more flat pitch to accomodate the extension. I'm painting the 2x4s for the run frame today as well. Oh, and I get to go pick up my wyandottes tomorrow night! I showed DH a picture of what they *should* look like fully grown and he thinks they look really neat. Bwahahahaha!!

Drove all over last night looking specifically for onion starts .........I finally found some

at Meijer, and got some other stuff. When I got home I didn't have the onions........UGH! Now I have to make another trip to the store tonight (and hope they still have some). I really hate it when that happens!!!

This weekend, we'll pretty much be outside working in the garden.

Hope everyone has a great Memorial weekend!

Isn't it something how us chicken folk can see the framework or a chicken coop and know its going to look good. LOL.

I had an ex- SIL passed from Lupus related issues. Sad thing is, they checked for Lupus too late, related a lot of her health complications to the RA, heart conditions, medications etc etc.. Her sister, my other ex SIL, she is in remission from Lupus. Not a disease i'd wish on my worst enemy. The clap or crabs maybe... but not that...

It happens some times. I'll overdo it and something gets damaged. I have 3 herniated discs so I usually work a bit and rest for a bit. As long as I'm moving I'm usually OK. Besides, I have power tools and machines for most everything. The curse of being an engineer.

I picked up a bunch of landscape timbers and another 2 yards of triple shred, so you can bet that I'll be riding that tractor and the cup holder will be used as well.

Picked up some feeder fish for the ducks, they don't quite know what to make of them yet.
Glad, that coop is looking real nice.

And in my rush to be a smart alek with Raz I lost my quotes.

I love the angry broody pictures! My poor turkey hens/geese just look like they're dying. It's been hot and only one of them thought ahead and put the nest in some shade.

Speaking of the geese, one of them inexplicably bit my knee while I was throwing out some scratch grain treats. I assume that kicking it in the chest is the appropriate goose-speak response to that nonsense? Seemed to surprise it, anyway.

You guys are doing some nice work on your coops - both building (glad) and converting (kimmie - hope you feel better. I don't have any experience with lupus but it doesn't sounds nice at all).

Raz, you just never stop, do you. When do you find time for beer?

I decided to send all my friends and family a Highlights magazine-type game. I'll share it with you all. Instead of spot the differences, see if you can spot how many chicks are in this picture (are they even still chicks?)

And just for good measure, my hives (I was a bit more liberal with the paint job than some seem to be. But it was fun to do)
