(and I'd totally have to look all of those up. I think at one point I knew what chiaroscuro was but that knowledge has long since been replaced by something really crucial to life - like the Animaniacs theme song lyrics

I thought it was just me...how true this statement is.
The brain becomes FULL, and it has to kick out memories for new ones. I try to explain this to my children who dont understand how I can still remember "I am Stuck on bandaids...." but I cannot recall how to correctly do some of this whacky math they bring home.
Mom - I didn't realize two questions = overload, but I guess it must, as you only answered one of them.

Care to perhaps finish? And thank you for the complement.

That child does love her chickens. I can't wait until we lose one, it is going to be fun times.
It felt like more than two. Are you sure it was only two? I bet there was more. And what one didnt I answer? I cant recall (

) repeat it please. I will answer.

Depends on the context of the relationship. How does she know the husband? If they regularly cross paths at work, for instance, I wouldn't think a thing of her. If she's seeking him out when their relationship would otherwise just be in-passing, I'd assume the witch had some mighty big testicles to be so nonchalant about her motives and "cold shoulder" would be an understatement.

Here is our prayer:
Dear God,
Please, put one hand on my shoulder and the other over my mouth.
Amen!

I, also, felt lucky to see one. It, kind of, played around me. Buzzing around my head and such.

GUESS WHAT!!!!!

We have a live one!!!! One of the eggs has hatched! I now am a proud chicken owner, once again!!! We will see if we have more tomorrow!!!
Dont forget the Uggos...you are a multi-mom..oooh, sort of like an octo-mom.
I surely don't understand this response, but I've seen it happen.
It makes me wonder if the issues with Crabby next door has something to do with that.

The girl I dated for some time was jealous of my neighbor even though we were nothing more than friends. Then my neighbor got wiggy about the girls from school who would some times come by to visit and study.
Ahhh, neighbor wanted more than friends. Obvious on the female side of things here.
I trust DH. He is too level headed to do anything stupid. If a single lady actually tried something he would tell her to look elsewhere. I've got male friends, I am sure there are people in this town who think I'm probably having an affair with one of them. Most of those people are known to have fooled around before, often with each other. It all depends on how confident your characters are. I would not give her the cold shoulder. Often that could lead to sneakiness as retribution.

Thanks for the birthday wishes Hillbilly Hen!

DH closed up all the coops for me tonight. I get to do the other 364 days.
Happy belated birthday!

I am not a jealous person. That said, Im not stupid either.
My very best friend and my bf when I was 19 hung around together. I didnt think a thing of it. I worked with her- and many times he would get there before me, to stop in and say "hi" to ME of course...until one day, I came in to work and his jacket was hanging on a chair..and he wasnt there. WHich meant he had been there and LEFT before I came in....hmmm... yep, they were sneaking around together.
Well, she won a prize. Ive run into him many times since then, they had two kids together= he has custody and total total totally the man who makes you say "What was I thinking?"

Anyhow- my husband flirts with everyone. He doesnt phase me. I trust him. The girls that flirt back they know he is harmless. If they are part of our group so it doesnt bother me at all. My neighbors are close with my husband- I think nothing of him talking to them, going over, helping out, etc..no big deal. But the exwife wanting him to work on her car or furnace..or a stranger that isnt part of our circle of friends= i would be leary. Not on my husbands part, he wouldnt do something wrong, but I would be leary of the womans motives.

Raz...First of all

Second...I have to stick up for you and say that you are a very nice man and I am not sure why you have had bad marriages... it must have been the ex's faults

Third... Take one for Team Uggo and kill her with kindness, if ya know what I mean

... Oh wait she is married...

ok... But what if there are no ulterior motives... My character has none, I am writing her with none. She genuinely likes both people, but I want the wife to be believable as well.
see my paragraph above.
I dont know why I quoted you here. I must have just missed you.

Good Morning...

coffee is necessary this morning, more so than the others.
I will admit it- I AM COLD.
There, I said it. I wish I had a heater to curl up in front of. I slept in front of the fan all night, no covers- and I believe I am frozen solid.

My kid is sick. Im trying to figure out if she has mono, strep throat, or is mainly faking.

She definitely has a red throat. She sleeps all the time. However, she is in a cycle that she is up late, is forced to get up early..so she falls asleep after school, then wakes up late and stays up late..see, circle?

She HATES chores..if she is sick, she doesnt have to do them...sleep, moan, groan, etc...anyhow, Im not sure how sick she is.

Its about time to get ready for work- I cant believe how much chatting you all did after I went to bed. I woke to fortynine unread posts.

You all have a great day.

Well, I wish a fellow member lived around here that knew how to wrap angel wing. Our KC has one wing developing with it. Last night we tried to get it wrapped with Koflex by wrapping the metacarpals to the ulna/radious. Anyway, KC proceeded to pull it off and ran into the dogs bed to fall asleep. I need a better method. Any ideas? Any luck? I have seen nylon stockings used as body socks but...BTW, this is a pet (thinks it's our kid) duck.

After wrapping lightly with Koflex to position the wing then pull a nylon stocking over her.

I rather like cool mornings like this. The afternoon temperatures aren't going to be unbearable and I think I'll take advantage of the pleasant forecast and go fishing. The extended forecast is certainly going to make helping my brother replace his fencing much easier when I don't have to constantly stop to wipe the sweat from my brow. He has well over 100 fence posts to install so I will need every advantage possible.

Granny is bemoaning the fact that she can't be involved. There was a time she would have been pulling wire with the best of them but that was over forty years ago. I think some times she forgets just how many years have passed.

I'm getting up to pour myself another cup of coffee. Anyone else want one while I'm at it?

Like I said. Depends on the context of the relationship.

We've had what we had assumed were raccoons causing problems for the past few nights. Last night DH set the live trap with some chicken remains. This morning I went out to check the trap, couldn't find it anywhere. I texted him to ask where he'd set it, he told me... I'd already looked there. Finally found it about 50 yards from where he'd set it, on it's side, bait gone.

Apparently, these children-born-out-of-wedlock are taking it to a whole new level this year.

It's a little cool for me this morning. They are saying some patchy frost tonight. We are up very high and usually don't get it, but I think I will be covering tomato and peepers just to be safe. I have collected Miss Yeti and she is in eating her morning meal, pecking away happily. I really need to find a cage so she can just be a house chicken. The little coop she is in has the pop door in the floor and she just falls out and can't get back in. She has learned to come when called so getting her out of the run is much easier now.

We love caterpillars here. We have watched all the stages with a few different kinds. Our first hatch of Monarchs is taking place right now. I make my DH mow around all the Milkweeds that have eggs on them.

He doesn't appreciate it. The Parsley caterpillars (Black Swallowtails) will be next. They wiped out all my dill last year before I knew what they were. We also love Tussock Moth caterpillars - they look like walking shag carpet!

I'm still waiting on my coffee. I think my pot is dieing. It takes forever to get a cup right now.

Trap savvy coons will often drag traps a considerable distance. Or they will turn them over to get the bait. The is exactly why I quit using them and switched to a Duke dog proof coon trap. It is a pipe with an internal trigger that releases a wire loop that holds the animal by its wrist. They are safe around all animals, including kids, and can only be triggered by pulling up on a bar that is 3" down inside the p 1 1/4" pipe.
