I haven't had a cigarette for a couple weeks. Staying busy no matter what that means doing.

The tiniest one is getting 4 molars in right now, so it has been a very rough couple weeks. I have had very, very little sleep, and next to no time without her in my arms.

Juise: Good for you on the cigarette thing - I'm just coming up on my 6 year mark; sooo worth it!

RaZ: cute to say the least. So, how long will you have it before release, or don't you know yet?

G'night Michigan; off to go and finish the goose breasts and pomegranate sauce for dinner. And tomorrow I have to go and check out a goat, so I reckon I won't be back until Sunday, which means about 6 hours of reading just to catch up!

my babies!

I am just plain stressed out, tired, frustrated, and possessing a very short fuse. These challenges are fleeting in the long run, but they sure seem to drag on forever while you are going through them.
Sorry you're having a bad week, Juise.
I'm with you on how you're feeling even if for other reasons. It's gotten so bad this past week I've found myself clenching my teeth almost constantly. I've had to purposefully try to find ways to keep myself from doing it. Between graduation, medical and other issues it is all just getting the best of me.

A lot of it will be resolved soon, but we still have my oldest DD's medical issue that is ongoing. We got the results from her MRI/MRA today. Good news: absolutely no tumor. BUT, they did find something which is going to require more lab work, an autoimmune screen and a CT angiogram. I've told her what is coming up, but I have yet to tell her how the angiogram is done. I really don't want to. It's not going to be pleasant.

Juise - would you consider using children's ibuprofen? I gave half doses of the drops/liquid when my kids were teething to take the edge off the discomfort.
I also had friends use whiskey on a Q tip to swab the area and some homeopathics that they felt helped.

Teeville - when I had a CT scan, I had the option to take the iodine or not. I chose not to take it and I still got the results we wanted to get.

Snowflake - It was Mom2, I suggested moss, too, I think it looks really pretty in paths or as a groundcover. And it is such squishy happy good times under your toes. I wish I lived closer, I would throw her some.

Raz - It is soooo cute!! Now I really do want to come visit. Ducklings are pretty bloitin cute, but that little skunk...
Well if you come visit, you can bring me some moss too. I'll share with Mom2, she is just down the road from me. After feeding, the little stinker fell asleep in the crook of my arm.

I was just reading that they leave their mother around the end of July or early August. I have more research to do.

AH! that goat! and the baby ducks!

Anyway! Took the boys to the end of the year school carnival. They had a good time. John was hiding from his ex-GF. She is a real trouble maker, even in public, and John is very discreet. SO, when ever we'd get to a class room, he'd peek in first, and if he saw her, we'd skip and go back. HA. What a fun thing that was for us. LOL. The kids got to play games, and we got to play hide and seek, grown up style.

My Roger... Roger, Roger, Roger... I don't know what I am going to do about Roger. YES, ROGER! Mr. Fluffers was the only one Roger would run from. The other rooster are bigger than Mr. Fluffers, and Roger would challenge them. Yeah. Tonight I had to rescue Mr. Fluffers! NOT KIDDING! Roger would not let up! They come tumbling, yes tumbling, out of the trees, Roger on top of Mr. Fluffers, all the way to the big coop, he had a hold on him, was trying to spur him, then had him under the big coop. I had to get under the coop and get Roger off of Fluffy-puss and throw him and LEILA! YES LEILA! who decided that she was queen b tonight too, and was fighting inside the big coop with the BIG GIRLS! back into their own tractor! Then get back under the big coop and get out Mr. Fluffers. I checked him over, he's good. I think he was just stunned dumb that a little 3 pound ball of fluff would dare take him on! Oh, I am so glad none of the other cockerels witnessed that humiliation or Mr. Fluffers would be done for on being King of the Yard. BUT LEILA! Tiny little Leila! I go to the carnival, and all hell breaks loose in the chicken yard and its the silkies leading the mutiny!

OMG. To darn funny.

Nova - you should give the Silkie family their own condo and yard!

Years ago I was involved with a woman with two sons. The older had been in a serious accident and the resulting head injury had left him with learning difficulties. When they came to live with me I was dismayed to discover that his previous school district had him in only basic basket weaving courses. I insisted that he be placed in regular classes and we would help him as necessary.

His younger brother and my youngest son, both the same age, were in accelerated programs for gifted and talented students and both carried straight A's. As an incentive I had always rewarded my sons for good grades. $10 for making the honor roll, $5 for each A, $3 for each B, I would deduct $3 for a C, and $5 for a D. The first marking period poor Ian had all D's. I sat all three boys down as we went over report cards and after handing $35 to each of the gifted boys, poor Ian said I guess I owe you a lot of money.

I told him that obviously he didn't make the honor roll so he wouldn't receive the bonus for that, but that I felt his effort to achieve a D far exceeded the effort expended by the others, that I was proud of how hard he had worked, and so, he would be rewarded for his valiant attempt and handed him $20. With the realization that with effort he could overcome his dyslexia his sense of worth soared, as did his grades. The next marking period he received 4 C's and a B. His struggle wasn't easy and it took a lot of work and encouragement from his mother and I but he became a different child. By the end of the school year he was receiving all B's. The kid that a school system had resigned to mediocrity and had convinced his mother that he was unteachable ultimately graduated from EMU.

One of the greatest compliments I have ever received came to me second hand from his mother. One of his teachers had told the class that no one could teach you self confidence, that it had to come from within. He told his mother that it's obvious that the teacher has never met Sam. No child should be left behind, but it is up to the parents, not the government, to see that they aren't. Place expectations on your children but be there to help them reach those goals. Don't depend on a school system and think you have provided your child an education.

Whiskey, Juise... yup. Rub it in. Aiden is teething also. He's been a Popsicle chewing addict all week.
When my sons went through teething would fill a double shot glass with Southern Comfort. I would then moisten my finger with it and rub their gums which help relieve the pressure of the emerging teeth. They only consumed a minimal amount of alcohol but it did help them sleep better. I would then drink the remaining whiskey and I slept better.
