I recently picked up some bantams from my local feed store and was curious to know what breeds they are. I am estimating my smaller chicks to be around 3-4 weeks old and my larger chicks 4-5 weeks old but most likely older (I was not given an age when I bought them so this is purely speculation).

In the larger group, (First Image) I have several of what I believe to be Cochins (5 buff and one black?), a possible silver duck wing in the back, and the others I cannot begin to try and identify.

Everybody in the smaller group (Second Image) has clean legs, no feathering.

Growing up I only had “chickens” so I am no expert on chicken breed identification. Any help would be appreciated! :)

Hi! And Welcome Aboard! For identifying the breeds, individual side shots would help immensely. So would knowing if any of your youngsters have feathered feet or legs. Your suspected cochins should have feathered feet. In the older group, judging by the bright red in the combs, it looks like you have four cockerels and two pullets. The younger group is still to small to tell, especially with the red light.
Regardless, you have a nice mix of colors in there. That's going to be a very pretty little flock!

Thank you! I have 6 chicks with feathered legs, everybody else has clean legs.

Image 1: Dark chick with white patches, very full leg feathering.

Image 2: Light tan/buff chick with feathered legs.

Image 3: Clean, pale yellow legs; chipmunk stripe down back of head; tiny little wings.

Image 4: Clean yellow legs, pale feathers splashed with tan.
