As long as the cage is secure from moving it won't be a problem. However, you will want some kind of bottom to capture all of the droppings or you will have a big mess to clean up.

Also, this is the first new introduction to my little flock. What are the recommendations on isolation? Time and distance apart, etc? Since Chickenstock is coming up, might be good information for many new people.

Yesterdays information on the heat was very helpful. Love getting everyone's opinions and experience to learn from.

Uh oh...it's gonna be a scortcher! I ran around before heading to work making sure everyone was watered and all possible windows were open. Separated one of my rabbits litters so they weren't piled all over each other...cause it doesn't matter how big the cage is...laying on top of each other is the best. lol I'm looking at the forecast and seeing a possible chance of rain on saturday!

Hopefully it will wait until CS is done...did anyone send Mother Nature a memo?!?!

Bad neighbors!

That's not a bird bath, it's a water-filled gazing bowl. The one over there is a decorative fountain. Give the birds a citation for misuse of garden decorations.

Well, here's something nice.

Glambka has donated two prizes for the Chickenstock raffle that I'll bring Saturday:

She is always looking for eggs, especially turkey eggs so if anyone has some to give I'll bring them back for her.
BEAUTIFUL!!!!
You really have a mean orp???? I thought I was the only one on the planet with mean orps. My three are just plain evil, I contemplate how good they'll taste on a daily basis

I had a mean rooster Orp, but otherwise my Orps are soooo sweet, I can pick momma up off her nest and set her aside, ,get scolded but never pecks at me, 6wk old Orps clime all over my lap to be fed
Will you post a picture of this? It sounds like the pump would provide a lot of benefits, both summer and winter. I would like to make it as well.
x2

I have a couple pictures for you.
After last nights storm this is Pippin, I have taken to calling him Pip squeak because of his ridiculous crow... or rather squeak.

Next is my broody Polish. It amazes me how she can still look so fluffy with all the missing feathers she has. I think she is finally done. She is out running around today.

And last is Toser. He/She is part Cochin and Part Welsummer. If yous see anything that would say he or she to you let me know. We are at 5 months now with no crow no egg and I have no clue on sex. One day I think boy the next girl.

Stay cool today! I think I will work in the basement today!

I was out taking pictures of the components of the pumped water supply system as I built it. Two nights ago I left the camera out in my bag in the cast. Sony had indicated that one should not allow camera to get wet.... My bad. Very bad.. I Set itr up to sun dry and it did. Evaporation is wonderful..Yesterday camera didn't operate at all. More drying time. Reassembled the thing today. It turned on and showed and took pictures! Elation

Hooked up to computer to transfer pictures and No Go. Comp. Could not locate the source. I have more to do. Now thoufg I must go out to garden . Gotta find out what's goin on there. Jo has to see the Primary care Doc later today. That's a struggle. Be back.

Try submerging it in a bowl of dry rice overnight.
