NO! I don't like snow! I want SPRING! The calendar says it's spring, so no more snow. I want to work in my flower garden and in my vegetable garden. I want to see the flowers come up and burst into bloom. Green grass....sun warming my face.... and kids playing in their yards screeching with joy and hearing their laughter. Is that too much to ask??

Hello! We're new here. My daughter is working up some information for her dad to convince him that having our own chickens are a good idea (Mama already agrees!). We've been trying to find local ordinance information regarding chicken ownership in Clarkston, MI, but are coming up empty-handed.

Can anyone help? THANKS!

I was hoping to head into town tomorrow for an oil change and my hair cut but Wed I'm heading downstate and off to Florida!!!! Gonna be 80 there on Friday. I figure this little storm will have melted by the time I get back.

Heck we've had snow in May, this is nothing. Dang but too bad we're not leaving today!

Good Morning all!!!!

I just wanted to say a quick hello, I am researching my coop design....bought most of the framing supplies yesterday...but was too busy helping the hubby side his shed/garage to get started.

My chicks are starting to get on top of the water container, and close to getting out of my brooder lol They grow sooo fast! What a joy it is to watch them.

Hope you all have a beautiful sunday. I am on vacation this week and looking for fun and interesting things to do with the kids to keep us busy.

I think your status changes with the number of posts you have done. On the horse forums I am on they do it like that. The more you post the more you mature---from newborn, to foal, to yearling, to greenbroke to deadbroke. I wonder if someone on here knows if there is a post that shows what title goes with what post count?!?!

Janansmom! I'm in Davison. Do you live in a rural area, or neighborhood? How much land do you have? There are some of us here that have chickens and live in neighborhoods. Not leagal, but if the neighbors don't complain you can get by having a few chickens. Depends on what your neighborhood is classed as....residential, or agriculture, etc. Also, look into the right to farm act. Good Luck!

Thanks, everyone!

We are in Independence Township, so I'll look through the information you sent babsboys. I'll also make a call to our local city office next week. My daughter's on spring break, so we have some time to do research. I might be able to return the favor, too! My daughter's school does worm composting of all the compostable lunchroom stuff. I'll get some information from our coordinator and send it to you.

Chickflick, I'm in a neighborhood, but it's pretty rural and our property backs to a woods/wetland. I have only one neighbor next door and 2 across the street. I don't think any of them would have an issue. We just want a few for personal eggs, not enough to start a business.
