I can't remember who I traded one of my pullets for a silver laced wyndotte but it's dying right now. I tried to help her, gave her water and tried to make her/him comfortable. It's looks like she had bloody poop what does that mean? I hope the rest of my chickens will be all right..

Bloody feces can mean necrotic or ulcerative enteritis. Antibiotics like neomycin and tetracycline, both available OTC and not expensive, are effective in treatment, from what I've read.

MMMMM. Val Kilmer... First think I ever saw him in was a Billy The kid Movie... Only I can not remember the name of it. Was not one of the popular versions. I think just a tv version. And then Willow. He was delicious in Willow.

I think I fell for Val in The Doors... When he played Jim Morrison... Mmmmm...

Was it another BYC member, Kimmie? There was a lady there selling birds and I would not buy any from her, not cuz they didn't look healthy, they did, but I didn't know her, and she was not from BYC. Hope she pulls through this.

My Vanna is still holding on. She's seems to be a little tiny bit better since I confined her to the garage. She is being treated with antibiotics, and I hope we do not have a re-occurance. She is eating and drinking, and I am also supplying her with buttermilk. Hope hope hope. The vet did finally get back to me. He told me to worm the hole lot of them. ALL of them. I said a majority are fine, and he told me to do them anyway since I had one hen die, and now another is sick. He doesn't think its EYP on her, but the worms. He has her on antibiotic as well because he feels that Vanna does have a secondary infection. She's on penicillin and again, she is confined away from the rest of the birds so what ever she has, they do not get. If she passes anyway, he agrees that she needs to go to MSU for testing to see what is wrong with the birds. Oh, that so scares me.

I warned the neighbor to keep an eye on his birds as well, since as ya'll saw by todays pic, they LOVE my underrun. He says he hasn't seen any problems. Crossing fingers that its just these two girls.

I have another broody. I keep taking the eggs away. I may let her try some more. Skatter was a good broodie. She sat on eggs for 31 days! SO... In 2 weeks the meaties go to process, so I would have the broody house back... I dunno though. I am not sure I want more chicks right now. Maybe I will let her have 2. I will have to watch the eggs though, and make sure she's getting eggs from hens that have been covered. Again... Maybe I will just keep throwing her butt out of the nestbox...

I can't believe how nice it cooled down tonight. My chickens weren't all panting up on the roost when I locked them up!

Now want to talk about a movie....Legend of the Falls is one of my all time favorites with Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins & Aidan Quinn. What a great story about Love, Betrayal and Unbreakable Bonds. Plus a fabulous setting...with breath taking scenery!

Sue what a awesome garden!!! Looks like you got some help. Around here I have to do everything pretty much on my own for some reason.

My Dh & brother do the majority of the prepping & planting so they get all the credit, I help maintain it, do the picking, freezing, and we both do the canning......special bonding time for us!! lol

Here my 2 eggs from the little EE's! I was so excited to find them. Sorry, can't really see the tint of them very well. Guess I shouldn't of put them on a blue towel.

Legends of the Fall... I have never cried over a movie so much! It is wonderful, heartbreaking, uplifting... Beautiful movie.
