And my lusty boys...

The photos do not do these guys justice. They are so much more handsome in real life. They are large bodied and bold protectors of the hens. I hope they taste as good as they look. I'll be sorry to see them go. I think the hens might disagree.

I like the 2nd picture. He sure is a handsome guy.

Nice, how about a certain NH and her brood?
I will have to get a more recent picture and post it for you. So far I am thinking one or two little boys and three or four girls.
Well, I think I have a broody hen. I noticed a few days ago that one of my rhodies seemed to always be in the same nest box whenever I went out to the coop. I can't say if it's the same hen every time because I can't tell them apart, but I only have three rhodies so it seems more likely that it's the same one I'm seeing. I checked all day today and she was in the box every time I looked so I think I'm right. DH says I need to break her, but how do I go about that exactly?

Nova- sorry about Vanna
To break a broody, I just put her in my storage area of my coop and make sure there is nothing she can make a nest in. Took less than a week for three of them last fall.

Welcome rocksteady! Thank you for your service to our country!
