Finally got my weeds mowed. I talked to my neighbor who's lived here for 50 years and this is the first time they've ever gotten a ticket; my other neighbor got one too. Sounds like the whole city is noncompliant

I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow. It has like a 70 % chance!
welcome normanackJust poking my nose in to say hi . . . I'm a tad northeast of Lansing, new to chickens and a victim of chicken math. What I thought was a dozen is, in fact, 21 chickens.
Anyway, I only know one other person with chickens near me, so a holler in my direction is welcome anytime.![]()
your yard looks like mine did last week before I cut the weeds, weeds are the only thing growing right nowHere's a few pics I took from my front porch. As you can see, there is no living grass and the plantain weeds are everywhere with a few chicory spread around. I could understand if I was neglecting my lawn but it's been 90+ for the past 2 weeks and the first day it's in the 80s, they give me a ticket and I can't even mow because it's raining grrrr! I'll be the first to admit the weeds are long but 24 hours to cut them is ridiculous especially when the notice was left at 6am. I think its a ploy to make the city money. The officer who stopped by was nice about it and also thought it was crazy because he had another 150 houses to go to in a town with a population of 3446 in 2010.
Hi Leah, welcomeHello. I am in Michigan. My backyard is on the MI/OH border. We are new to raising chickens. We have 9 birds that were supposed to be girls, but I suspect one them is actually a heI have 4 kids, a bearded dragon, 2 buff Orpington, 2 black Australorp, a barred rock, a silver laced Wyandotte, a golden laced Wyandotte and 2 Ameraucana. I am thinking actually EE, in truth and one of them being the s/he.
I read once to sprinkle wood ash on them nothing will eat them and it doesn't hurt the plantWelcome to the new members!![]()
I had a lot of thunder earlier today, but not a drop of rain!
Any ideas on how to keep Bambi from nibbling on your tomato plants? They are planted right outside my front door. The are about 3 - 4 feet tall and the tops have been eaten off. I don't think Thumper did it, too tall.
