I might live in Holland, but I don't pay that much attention to the crap that goes on over on the other side of town. I would not live in the inner city anymore. To many people all hopped up on themselves making problems. And the kids... With no direction given anymore, broken families, or never been family, govt interference saying parents can not just knock their kids out, and parents to busy working to keep up with the Joneses while still collecting welfare... Well, It's a civilization in decline in inner cities. I'd rather stay out here in a semi-rural to a full out rural area. I mean heck, them idiots at city hall just shut a 13 yr old kid with some initiative down because his hot dog stand may hurt other businesses in the downtown area. You have to be effen kidding me. Just another example of govt getting to big for their britches. AND THIS WAS AFTER THEY ISSUED THE LICENSE!
We are getting a bit of rain again. It is just too dang muggy out. The chickens have nearly finished the wet feed, Happy about that. Hate the thought of it being wasted. My hen is still broody, so she'll be getting some eggs as soon as Vonna and Fia finish producing them today, and the few silkie eggs I have been collecting. I wish Snow bunny would go broody...
I met a man and his wife at the feed store today. He is raising JG's, along with some light Brahmas, for meat. The Brahmas for eggs. Anyway, they are from up Williamston way. Elderly chap, used to have chickens up until 30 years ago, and he and the wife decided to get back into rearing for food. It is amazing the people you run across, strike up a conversation, and the next thing you know, an hour has gone by, but for that hour your life was enhanced by people you will never see again, but who provided an enjoyable several moments. It is a blessing to be counted.
